It's the same throughout all brands.... Remove battery cover or any cover holding sim card and/or SD card.
Locate the position the sim card is placed and insert it correctly. Do the same with the SD card if you have one. Put the device back together then switch on. The phone will check your sim card and connect to your network provider (if phone is unlocked to all networks) you will find out quick enough if the phone is locked to another provider, it won't work !
Assuming it pairs with your network, the on-screen instructions will tell you how to proceed, like any email accounts etc that you want synchronised with your device. It should automatically load your previous contacts and will install some updates automatically too.
These are generic instructions for the average type phone, read any manual you have carefully. but this is the general way..... good luck.
One more thing....make sure the device is charged.

If it says Contact service provider means it locked to Network,Check the Network and Country it locked now?
Get the code from here
Prounlocking.com and Unlock it....then use with any GSM Network Sim card.
The problem you are experiencing with your phone is due to the fact that your phone is locked to the sim card which was sold with your phone which means that your phone can only recognize/authorize the sim card from the service/network provider who sold the phone to you.
In order for you to be able to use your phone with another sim card, the solution is to contact your service provider and request for the unlock code to grant you the permission to use your samsung highlight phone with any sim card of your choice.
The unlock code will be given to you after asking you a few questions for free of charge.
Hi it means the sim card you are using is not the same type the phone is locked to say your trying a orange network sim but the phone may be locked to vodafone.
if the sim card worked in the phone before then i would take the sim card out and give the contacts are rub then put it back in if it still dont work then this would suggest the sim card reader needs replacing, to get this done it will need taking to a phone shop.
if you are unsure what network the phone is locked to then you can take it into any phone shop and they will tell you for free what network its locked to.
let me know if you need further assistance ok
plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks
Invalid SIM and Unregistered SIM are two different problems. Invalid SIM means the phone is locked to a certain company and you are trying to use a SIM card for another company. Unregistered SIM means the SIM card you are using is not active and you need to contact your service provider to get it activated. In order to unlock the phone so you can use anyone's SIM, you must contact the provider that the phone is locked to.
