Can't jump to the end on level 5

Hmm, perhaps you are not holding down the jump button to jump higher?

Also if you run (press and hold the Y button) and jump you can gain more distance though its much harder this way when running over small platforms. (I enjoy myself personally)

Another tip for higher jumps is to use Mario's triple jump.
You jump once then hit jump again right when you hit the ground and then do a third one for a full summersault jump up in the air.
This is better for later parts of the game and isn't really all that needed to beat the game, but its very fun.

Another tip is the purple/pink bouncy mushrooms all around stage 1-5. You can jump higher off them if you hit the jump button right when you land on one.
Though I'd suggest holding the run/fire button (Y by default)
to move a little faster when bouncing all around. It can be a little harder but can help when you need to really move as you loose a little speed when bouncing on those mushrooms.

I hope that helps you out some.
Remember to keep trying, practice makes perfect, and shouldn't be too hard to master.

Good luck and have fun.

Green mushroom house world 7

This is hard, but not impossible. lol if you are a good "wall jumper" than it's a piece of cake. You will need to be miniature Mario for this. the easiest way to be miniature mario is to go back to world 1 and level four. In that particular level there's a question mark square that has the little blue mushroom, just finish that level in miniature "mode" and go back to world 7. Why little Marion? Because little mario can jump a lot higher than any other mario can. Now, in the ghost house, right after level 1, is where you'll get the pathway to the mushroom. hit the first (and only the first, no need to worry about making mistakes and having to start over) solid brick and an orange button will appear, as you may already know. step on it (watch out for the little ghost thing) and five golden doors will appear. Enter the bottom right golden door and you'll enter a room with a bunch of white hands pointing to the location of an invisible square, but who cares?! ignore the hands and square and go straight to the jumping jack looking thing. Jump towards the right wall and "wall jump" your way to the golden door on the top. When you enter this part of the level there will be a bunch of golden coins and a blue button. Now this gets a bit tricky. hit the blue button and run immediately to the LEFT (you are short on time, so READ the entire thing first, so that you don't get lost) (not the right where you would usually go to) the bricks will form two "L"s the first one is facing the wrong way,(after passing it) an opening will be there where you will jump up and access them, stick to the LEFT "L" structure (or the L facing the correct way). Now, since you are running, you are going to have to jump up towards the wall (that's now there) "wall jump" to the RIGHT and you will SEE the golden door that you need, HOWEVER, one wall jump will not be enough and you are going to "wall jump" to the LEFT using the single square "platform" where the door is at. and when you get to the wall, you are going to have to "wall jump" to the RIGHT once more. (NOTE: if you run straight towards the wall and try to wall jump from all the way from the left, you will NOT make it, you need momentum that you can only get by running and jumping towards the wall) you will most likely over do it, but don't worry!!! slide down the wall that's above the door and just keep holding the right arrow on your controlling pad, mario will simply land on the platform without any effort. I understand that what I just said may not make a lot of sense, but once you see it, you'll know what i'm talking about. Don't get frustrated for this may take several tries. good luck.

PS if you don't know how to "wall jump" this will be very hard for you.... so get some time "wall jumping." you may already know this, but just in case....
HOW TO WALL JUMP: how do you wall jump...? well you hit jump as you hit the wall. If you can slide down a wall, you can "wall jump," all you do is basically hit the jump button and then point the arrow pad (left or right) to which ever side the wall is at. ex if the wall is on your left, you jump close to the wall and hit left on the arrow pad and jump. MArio, then. will jump to the other side off the spot you hit the controls off. you could even jump straight up slide down the wall and just hit jump.

World 6, Tower 1 (after 6-2), Last gold coin

hi liz , that is a tuffy , i tried hundreds of times , your spossed to be able to jump the dry bones , then get a running start and jump to the right wall , then wall jump back to the upper part of the left wall then to the right and back to the left where you will be at the warp pipe that leads to the 3rd coin , how ever i have not been able to accomplish that in 200 tries , so i got a mini mario in my circle to use when i get there , get to that last door area and mini will do the wall jump just fine , go up the warp pipe and hold on , 4 spiked bars from all directions , dont panic , wait for the cycle , jump to the 1st landing ,then up 1 more to the right and back to the coin , stop at as far left as you can when you get the coin and duck , wait for the next cycle then return the way you got up there and go back down the warp pipe , go back down to the door that dry bones is guarding , enter the door , now you have to stomp bowser jr 3 times as a mini , its tuff but not as hard as wall jumping .

here is a great walk thru link that helped me complete the game 3 times .

http://guides.ign.com/guides/682879/page_21.html

the link i set at world 6 so scroll down to tower level , and see good pics of what to do .
good luck with the game , as hard as some levels are don't give up .
the best tip i could give is to go back to world 1-1 after each level complete and get 2 flowers and extra 1 ups before going into your next level so you are prepared .

wow, I don't know how you guys got this far in the game if you can't wall jump... all you have to do is get on the red blocks and "wall jump" to the other side. how do you wall jump...? well you hit jump as you hit the wall. If you can slide down a wall, you can "wall jump" all you do is basically hit the jump button and the point the arrow pad (left or right) to which ever side the wall is at. ex if the wall is on your left (which is the case on this level) you jump close to the wall and hit left on the arrow pad and jump. MArio, then. will jump to the other side off the spot you hit the controls off. you could even jump straight up slide down the wall and just hit jump. Try practicing wall jumping, it'll make your life a lot simpler and the game much more fun :D good luck. you could twitter me if you have any questions, but twitter is kind of short with letters.
good luck to you all.

How do you get past level 6 -1?

It took me forever to get through this. I searched on the net to find the solution but couldn't find one. I finally figured out how to do this and came back to post a solution just for you.

The way to get past this is to have Mario sort of jump-bounce off the wall. He can only do it on certain walls -- you'll know it if you jump next to the wall and Mario will look like bubbles are floating up from his head. Anyway, stand next to the wall, jump, then press the arrow direction toward the wall and jump again at the same time.

You're gonna have to do this a few times again throughout the game. It's gonna take some tries to figure it out.
