Whith the main pool pump on and the booster pump on too. pull the hose up to the deck, without pulling the phantom out of the water. You will see unions leaking, you will have to replace them. what is happening is pressure is being relieved from the unions and their for, does not have the force to move the phantom..

Polaris won't move and seems to be nose down. The tail is moving but thats it. also when i bring the tail out of the water, it doesn;t have much water pressure shooting out.

Check the pool cleaners filter screen in the in-line filter and clean, if necessary.Clean the skimmer basket, pump basket, and pool filter. If one of these is full or clogged, it could be weighing part of the cleaner down. Check all of the hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could cause loss of
water pressure. Finally, make sure that your wheel RPM is set correctly (between 28-30 RPM)

The wheels on my Polaris 3900 don't move. Plenty of water coming thru the thrust and the tail wags. When I move the wheels manually they all move together.

There are a couple things that you should check with these pool cleaners if the wheels are functioning properly. Check the filter screen in the in-line filter assembly and clean if necessary.Make sure that you do not have any debris or obstructions that could be halting wheel function. Even though you seem to have plenty of water, check the RPM and make sure they are between 28 and 32.

It stays in one place. I have cleaned the filter and the suction hose works because I used my manual vacuum. It will move for a couple of minutes and then it stays in one place. I have checked all the...

You said cleaner moves for couple minutes then stays in one place.. when it's stuck in one place, is the cleaner pulsating? If not then either you don't have enough suction or the diaphragm is bad or clogged. you said it was not clogged so check closely for tears. Very common to have a **** or tear next to or just below the plastic retaining ring that holds the diaphragm on the inner cassette tube. Also check and make sure there are no holes or breaks on the hoses. If the cleaner is ok, then it is possible you have an intermittent problem in your equipment. there are a number of things that can cause the suction and pressure within your equipment to fluctuate. an air leak, clogged impeller, or dirty filter, or combination of the above. Make sure you check the suction with the gauge that came with the cleaner. sometimes the suction can be lower than need to properly run the cleaner, but still feel strong on your hand. If the cleaner were over a year old there are number of other things I could suggest, but being less than 6 months, if it's not the diaphragm, then I'd suspect the equipment. If this doesn't solve the problem let me know, these cleaners are very straight forward. Good luck!

Suction is ok but it wont move around the pool

Try checking the following things that often happen when these automatic pool cleaners are not moving: First, make sure that the main drain and and all suction lines not being used are closed. You might be getting some suction, but it might not be enough. Also, check for debris in your filter and pump baskets. Make sure that your flapper is working. If it has debris, it can prevent movement.

It does not pick up debris and there does not seem to be any suction on bottom of unit

Try these troubleshooting techniques for this automatic pool cleaner. First, check the thrust jet and make sure that it is getting proper thrust. Check the filter screen in the in line filter and clean it is necessary. Make sure that your skimmer basket and pump basket are clear of obstructions. Check your hoses and connections to make sure that you don't have any leaks. A loss of water pressure could be your problem.

One thing that you might want to try on these pool cleaners is removing the limit screw on the axle for greater angle of tandem wheels. Make sure your filter bag is not clogged or partially clogged because this cause restrict movement. Check for debris jammed in your drive system (wheels, axles, etc.)

My pump pressure is 10psi i cleaned the de filters they seem fine i have good floe out of my jets but when i hook the pool cleaner up pressure drops to almost nothing. could my impeller be the problem

The pressure you are reading is the pressure in the filter tank as water is pumped though it. When the filter is freshly charged, 9 PSI is a good pressure.

As the filter removes particles from the water the filter gets "dirty" -- it takes more pressure to push the water through it thus raising the PSI.

I think you are viewing this in reverse. Low filter pressure is "good" (as long as it stays above 8 PSI) -- as the filter cleans the water the PSI will increase -- when it gets to 15-20 PSI it needs to be back-washed and recharged.

The pressure drops when the pool cleaner is connected because pool cleaners always pull in air (in varying amounts) because of all the hose connections. This causes your filter/tank pressure to drop.
