Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV

2 Answers

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525, and when the Directv installer came out, he said that he could not connect the box to my tv because he didn't know how to get my tv in HDMI mode. From what I am reading, it appears you just connect the box to the HDMI set up on the tv and the tv automatically converts to HDMI? Is this correct? Can someone assist me, I am paying Directv for HD tv that I do not have, and husband thinks we need a converter box. I am not sure this is the case?

Your right connect the HDMI output from the directv receiver to an HDMI input on your tv. Change the tv input to the HDMI input and it should work. If your tv does not have HDMI input then it should have component input indentified as red blue green connectors on the back of tv. This is for video only. Connect the red and white for audio using the yellow/red/white cable that was included with receiver. The red blue green cable is also included with receiver as well as the HDMI cable. Did this installer educate you on how to use your directv equipment. If you are paying for HD access but your receiver is not connected the an HD input on your tv then you are not getting what you are paying for. This should of been resolved during the installation. The installer either is incompentant or just did not care. Call directv and demand them to make their receiver work with your tv if this means a field supervisor tech being sent out to correct this.

The Manual speaks clearly on pages 14 & 26 to this connection (the cable is not supplied however). You will need to use NetCommand to assign the HDMI input to the Device you are using and the select the Input to be used (via the TV remote) to that input. Note carefully the first few pages starting with Chapter 3 (NetCommand Setup & Editing)

Device Menu not working

Could have a stuck button or a corrupt e-prom, but lets try kicking this set in the head, Now these reset codes are model dependent so this code will not work for every set out there but this reset is for the WD-62525. with the set on and with the original TV remote hit the keys in this sequence, MENU-2-4-7-0 this will bring up a service menu, the cruiser should already be on "Initialize" so simply hit enter. this will reset the TV to factory defaults and may fix your problem
