Your switch/harness may need to be unplugged and turned around. Take off the shifter and you can see it there.

It sounds like it might be a gearbox problem. I get my peg perego gearboxes from http://www.mypegperegoparts.com/asgi0158xwtv.html
You can also call their repair department at 1.801.655.0800, they always know what is wrong with my toys.

My kids gator wont go in reverse, and it makes a gear grinding noise when they try to take off forward.

ours did the same thing so I replaced the gearbox in it. I bought it at http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego-gearboxes-and-motors.html

I have the Peg Perego Gator and when running it will stop. Happens more often in 2nd Gear. Sometimes when pedal it pressed it will make a motion forward and just stop. Could this be in the acceleration...

It might be the peg perego motor in the rear that is going bad, thus causing the fuse to trip. I had the same problem with my kids toy so I contacted a service center for Peg Perego at 1.801.655.0800
They were able to help me over the phone and get the right parts out to me.
hope this helps

Our Peg Perego Gator has a brand new battery yet it won't run. It started out with the reverse not working, then we lost the fast gear and now it doesn't work at all. Any advice?

I would check to see if both wheels are spinning in high.
If only one spins, then it may have a loose connection on one of the motors.
You can also get the specific peg perego gator switches from the guys at
http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego.html
They also have a phone number that you can call them to explain theproblem with the vehicle, they seem to know a lot about them.
Hope this helps.

I have a peg-perego polaris four wheeler. One

I would take off the wheel that is not spinning and see if the wires have come loose.
My grandson had a polaris 700 and one of the wires had come off.
I needed a gearbox 3 days later (go figure) and I got it at

Peg Perego Gator Ride On Toy

Sounds like the gears are stripped. If a bunch of teeth are missing, only the high speed gear will spin the gears fast enough to move the gator forward. I just bought a used one and found it pretty easy to tear apart and diagnose as similar issue. The gear boxes, located inboard of each wheel contain plastic gears and strip relatively easy if the shifter is moved , during motion from forward to reverse.
