Firstly, try reconnectnig it and make sure you push it all the way in. Then try this:

1. Got to Run on the startmenu. And type regedit.
2. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass.
3. Go to the first folder that starts with {4D36...
4. Delete UpperFilter and LowerFilter.
5. Reboot the unit.

If it still doesnt work after this try a full system recovery. If that doesnt fix the issue you might need a new CD-PCA board or mainboard. But it can also be a DOA(dead on arival) DVD-ROM.

TSSTcorp TS-L632 (B) drive is writing CDs, reading DVDs but not writing DVDs.

First check that your drive is indeed a DVD writer and not a 'hybrid' i.e. CD writer and DVD reader. If it is, go on the manufacturer's site and see if they have Win 8 compatible drivers - Win 8 is a fairly new OS so they may not have had time to get a new one out.

Hello. My Name is Simon. I have a hp670s laptop with tsst corp Ts-l633l cd/dvd player. I have some problems with it. It doesn't want to read the dvd-s. I tried to change the firmware, but it writes...

Hi Simon,
DVD(-) are better suited towards standalone DVD recorders and TV units. DVD (+) are better suited towards your PC needs.
However, that being said, there's no reason your writer shouldn't recognize and write to them.
Some simple steps are:
1) clean your laser lens - alcohol and a q-tip work best for this, and you'd be surprised how often this will work.
2) burn your DVD's at a slower burn rate - if the problem is with reading discs, try burning them slower. If the problem is recognizing the discs altogether,
3) Make sure you have the current drivers/firmware for you disc drive. Firmware updates may enable the use of DVD(-)'s and drivers may be required.
4) You can attempt adjusting the POT settings on your laser, as well, with the caution that this may or may not make it worse, or just break the drive entirely.

If all else fails, get a new drive. DVD writers are cheap and easy to replace in a laptop.

Need help with Compaq Presario v2000 drivers

Your DVD drive is missing the Burning Program not the driver. I found an update for your windvd software for windows 7 but you probably have to have the full program installed to run the update. Hope this helps.

Can't use cd/dvd player - computer doesn't recognize it

try to boot the computer using cd. like you trying to install windows. if it read the cd to get into the windows setup, then cd drive is good.

1st make sure you set the option boot from cd first in the bios.
2nd place a windows setup into the drive.
3rd save and exit the bios.
4th if it ask you to press any key to enter setup then the cd drive is good.

maybe u have a windows problem, try to reinstall windows, that the easy way.

HP DV4000 Series not detecting newly installed DVD±RW LightScribe

The type of CD/DVD recorder is suppose to be automatically detected by your Plug N Play portion of your BIOS. Reboot and press the "F" key combination that will bring up the boot process as opposed to the CMOS Settings. See if the correct DVD model shows up as one of your boot electives. You may be able to change it in that window. If not then reboot to BIOS and change it there.

CD/DVD not working, lapto doesn't recognizes it

It sounds like a problem with part of the I/O for the CD drive on the mother board. If the computer is under warranty, I would see about sending it back for service.

Normaly, if you are using original supported devices, if the drive is not defective and the drivers are installed, it should work.
