Question about Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD Car DVD Player
My pioneer AVIC n1 screen will not pop out. The radio and everything else plays, but the screen just wont come out. I can only control the stations by remote. The screen also isnt all the way in. it is about half an inch out and wont budge. I read somewhere that it could be something called a ribbon cable so i was wondering if i could get some help with the problem and where i could get a ribbon cable. Also how could I fix it myself. thanks

Yes they will replace the ribbon cable for free for only one time. but if you did the bypass mod they will unmod it and charge you $200 for doing it. In that case you better of send it to that guy Rich with Same Day Audio Service on Ebay, he will fix it with his company manufactured milspec ribbon cable for I think $85. His cables are much higher quality than Pioneer's and come with a free lifetime warrantee if you have it perform by him or you can purchase the cable from him and put it in by yourself but he won't guarantee it if you do. It not very hard to do if you are a little bit technical incline. I bought a few cables and replaced them myself with the Ribbon Cable Exhausted Tutor Guide on AVIC411.com, but I have figured out a much easier way to do it. Let me know if you need help. Goodluck to you.

It is probably the ribbon cable that you can see when the screen closes. This is a known problem and the part is sometimes hard to find. But is available.

Pioneer has a repair service center in California. Look up warrenty and service repair on their site. With a problem that detailed it realy cant be narrowed down to one thing. The good thing is you have enough wrong that you actualy benifit from their flat rate fee's for repair.
Me on the other end ended up paying $200 for them to replace a fuse. :( So yeah look up the repair centers number, give them a call and they will tell you what you need to do. The unit is repairable.
