No this is not normal try to play your games with out go online if it still freezen or the icon for the cd is not there or if is not reading games, bluray movies dvd's anymore your problem can be with the bluray laser lens let me know what it does after you try to play a game or better yet try to wach a bluray movie and see if it stop reading the movie after about 30 mins or less if this happen your tv screen stays black but if you push the PS logo the ps3 ask you if you want to stop playing the disk select yes and your icon for the movie is probably gone this is what happend if your bluray laser is bad it is easier to check this with a bluray movie like a mention here let me know if this is your problem and I have a solution for you thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

My ps3 doesnt let me play online call of duty

Do you have a PSN account? If no, create one, sign in, then try again.
If you already have a PSN account and you're signed in, can you access the PSN store? If not, verify that your PS3 is connected to the internet.

If everything above failed, it would be easier for us if you gave us the error message you're getting when trying to play online.

Hi. You probably only have a silver XBOX Live membership. In order to play online multiplayer, you need to upgrade your account to a gold membership. For details on how to upgrade your account, click here.
