its a diesel engine right
is it turbo-ed

very complicated engines with all the electronics
best guess....could be very wrong
suggests cylinder 6 is down on intake pressure
and Input/Turbine speed sensor might be that cause of that

thats the two issues .
.might need a Chrysler service division to sort out

P1416 .Cylinder 6 Reactivation Control Performance
P2784.....generic code only

Vw passat estate 1.9 tdi 115bhp 85kw 2000. Has Fault code : 17965.

It's a turbo problem of sorts. Have a look on the following link which will give you access to more information:

passat eror code 17965 Google Search

To be quite honest, there's nobody on Fixya who will be able to give you a definitive answer. Turbos can suffer from a number of faults and those faults can sometimes be quite difficult to track down.

Here's a link to Ebay:
passat turbo

It may be worth your while actually contacting a turbo specialist and asking their opinion. What you don't want to do is fit part after part in hope of curing the problem. Your first course of action should be to ask a turbo specialist or good workshop. Yes, it may mean paying for somebody to check things out for you, but it really does save money and bother in the long run.

I HAVE A 2007 DODGE SPRINTER WITH CODE PO299 WHAT TEST CAN I DO

Check all hoses to and from turbo to intake .. it is most likely a leak somewhere and the pcm is reading it as a underboost code.

2006 jetta 2.0 t with a coode p0299. what needs to be replaced...help please

this code is in reference to a turbo fault code that comes up either with a weak turbo or internally leaking turbo / dragging turbo impeller /pintal shaft,
could also refer to a turbo waste gate vacumn contrl issue

Turbo charger over boost was diagnostic term. Also noticed sort of a tapping or clicking off and on at speeds of over 60 mph after having problem with turbo

variable vains are sticking in the turbo, you can try moving the lever manually to clean them or using a good quality fuel cleaner,if this fails yiu will need a new turbo
