Question about Sylvania LC-200SL9 20 in. LCD EDTV
I click menu, I use the channel down button to get to "set channels." I want to scan the channels because they have all changed due to HDTV, but any other button I touch next makes the control panel shut off. I can't scan. Suggestions?

SOURCE: programming channels
In order to program the channels for this TV, you'll want to press the "Menu" button on the TV itself. Once in the main menu, scroll down until you see an option called "Setup." From here, press the right arrow key to enter the submenu. Before going any further, you'll want to make sure that the tuning band is correctly set to "Air" or "Cable," which will depend on how you have your TV connected.
Once the proper input has been selected, you can then scroll down to "Auto Ch Search." If you press the right arrow key on this option, your TV will automatically search for all available channels.
If you'd like step-by-step instructions (with pictures of what you should see at any given step), I'd suggest checking out the link I've provided below to Insignia's online owner’s manual for this model:
Hope this helps you out.

i had the same problem with a 32 inch and i kept "clicking" the channel changer on the remote to force the tv to go to another channel (that had previously been selected during the initial auto scan) --- still trying to figure out why the tv locks onto the scanning for channel

Your may be in shop mode, I'm not sure if Vizio's have a service menu. Go to setup and go through the install process again, watch for a demo or shop mode setting. If there isn't a setting then you need a new mainboard

cable or Ant.. ? after the scan if there is no channels found (0 digital, 0 analog) then try with cable or Ant to see if any of them work.. if they still don't pick up any channels and the whole yellow progress line goes across.. then it sounds like the tuner on the tv is bad.. and the tuner is part of the main-board so the whole main-board will have to be exchange or repair.. contact Amergence technology they are a 3rd party repair center that service Olevia TV's and they will be able to give you an idea on the repair cost..
