Fixing the jammed lens is kind of critical, it might damage your camera if not properly done. You need exclusive tools that can open the lens thus you need to consult or bring your cam to a pro camera technician or to nearest service center

I do not get a sharp focus with macro enabled on my sigma 70-300 DG lens

A lot will depend on how close you are to the subject. If you are at maximum lens length 300mm and you are not getting a sharp pic, try leaving the lens at 300mm then bodily move the camera and lens backwards away from the subject or closer to the subject until you see it become sharp in the viewfinder.

Pro and cons of wide teleconverter lens

Great question! The Pros: -Gives you a wider angle of view on your built-in lens -Gives you the potential to have a shallower depth of field when you zoom in on an object. This is a lens effect which makes objects behind the subject appear less in focus than the subject in the foreground - can be a positive if you're trying to have a more cinematic-like effect
The Cons: -Apparent lens distortion around the frame edges. You'll notice a "bowing" effect happen. -Increased ability to have dust and scratches on your lens. Make sure both the front and rear element are clean! -Possible increase in light glare. If the sun is in the background, expect to see more lens-flare effects due to the lack of a lens shade, and the increased number of glass elements that the light needs to pass through.
Personally, I like having the wide angle adapter in my pro-sumer video camera kit because it gives me another option when I'm in close-quarters. If you can avoid lens flare, it will be great addition to your camera.

Hi - is it possible to remove the lens from an Olympus C-7070 camera? I want to try to fit it on to an inverted microscope with a bayonet fitting. Thanks, Paul

The lens is not designed to be removed and the camera will not function if you do manage to do so as it will report a lens error. To avoid this will involve bypassing various microswitches, simulating missing inputs and making other custom modifications to your camera. It's not impossible but you'll be on your own with the modifications, adapting and inventing as you go.

Ideally you either need a suitable SLR with an adaptor, or a camera which will accept an adaptor onto the front filter fitting (not all compacts and bridge cameras have them though).

You'd best contact Olympus directly for suggestions: they're a major microscope manufacturer and have always had the best solutions for using their cameras with microscopes. They have in the past produced a surprising number of microscope adapters for their models and have often produced special versions of their cameras designed solely for use with microscopes, endoscopes and similar non-standard applications.

Do they make a converter for cannon len to fit fugi

Depends what you mean.

The Fuji s7000 is a fixed lens bridge camera, so you can't remove the lens and use an adapter and fit other lenses.

All that you can do is to git supplementary telephoto, wide angle and extreme close up (macro) lenses to the filter thread on the end of the lens; if you use what's called a reversing ring you can then (within reason) mount pretty much any SLR lens backwards onto the front of yours. The reversing ring screws into the filter threads of each lens and will be quoted in two sizes: these will be whatever the filter thread diameter is on each lens. By mounting a lens backwards, you effectively end up with an extreme macro lens, but it all depends upon which lens you choose. The reverse mounted lens will just be a dumb bit of glass, there will be no focus or aperture control and no communication of any information back to your s7000.

Hope that I've helped, if so please rate my answer.

How to use this lens

I'm not familiar with the F-828 but on all the other CyberShot models which I've used this adapter on you have to enable it in the camera set-up menu before you can use it.

Some CyberShots need a firmware update before this can be done.

The lens will not retract.

When the lens will not retract and camera is not functional (no picture ondisplay, and does not shoot) , and you already tried replacingbatteries with a new fresh set (ensure please) , and then restartingcamera with no memory card inside, then camera is faulty.

Try aneasy fix by pushing gently the lens (do not force them, just help them)while you turn off camera at same time. Try also switching the modeselector.

If still no luck , then the camera must be disassembled to fix the problem.

Possible reasons are :

  • Faulty lens mechanism or jammed lens (camera usually turns off by itself in this case)
  • Main board faulty.
  • Ribbon cable to main board broken or connector defective.
  • If there is no power at all it is the connector from batteries to main board, this is also a ribbon cable.

If the camera is less than one year old will be replaced by manufacturer.

If your warranty is expired you can get an estimate for repair frommanufacturer, or from a third party like Advance Camera here :Advance Camera Repair you can book the repair online.

Mamiya 645 Super mirror locked in open position

My mirror somehow got stuck open too, I removed the power winder and grasped the pins in the middle of the silver wheel underneath used to wind the camera. Turn this clockwise until it stops and shutter is completely closed. Test fire camera after. If it doesn't work make sure you wound it all the way.
