Hi there
By correct alphabet do you mean the English alphabet?
Some computers have a "curtain" where you can change between languages..
Being Icelandic my personal experience is that to make a keyboard Icelandic the salespeople put the letters on a small lables ( with a kind of a glue to make them stick) to the letters on the keyboard to make it an Icelandic keyboard.
Once you have gotten used to the keyboard like that there is no problem to use the English one ---your brain has learnt to tell the fingers go to the correct keys.-
Take contact with the people/shop that sells your type of laptop and ask them to put the correct letters on the correct keys.
Good luck

My laptop keyboard when i type in letters the letters that i hit are not the same ones that come up on the screen what would cause this laptop not even a yaer old

I guess the keyboard layout (or language settings) have changed. It is easier to help you if you tell us the operating system and which keys are changed. But I'll try to help you here.
If you have XP, open control panel and select 'Regional and Language Settings'. Following window will appear.
select 'Language' tab and click 'Details' button.

When the following window appears, check what is in the top combo box (circled in red).
If you have a US English keyboard, it should be English (United States). Otherwise select the correct one from the combo box itself.

If the correct keyboard layout is not there in the list, click the add button and add the keyboard layout you want. Then select it as the default language from the combo box.
Hope this helps you!
Good luck, and thanks for using FixYa!

I have a problem regarding my lg x110 notebook. some keys are not working properly like the letter g on the keyboard, when i hit the letter g it appears letter c on the monitor same as letter t and z and...

Examine your keyboard for any build-up of dust, dirt, liquids or other particles that could be causing the keys to type the wrong characters. Allow any loose dirt to fall out by inverting and shaking the keyboard lightly.
Confirm that your keyboard is set to the English language. Go to your control panel and click on the "Regional and Language Options" icon. If the setting appears to be in a foreign language, change it to English/U.S.
Check if your number lock key is on. If so, depress the key to disengage it.
Run a character key test by using the Microsoft Keyboard Diagnostics (MSKEY) program. While in the MSKEY program, hit several keys to make certain that they are the same keys that are identified in the MSKEY window. To start MSKEY in Windows Vista, select "All Programs>>Accessories>>Run" from the Start menu. Type "mskey" in the box and depress the "OK" button. Start MSKEY In Windows XP by clicking on "Run" from the Start menu. Type "mskey" in the Open box, then hit "OK." Depress either "PS/2" or "USB" to apply it to your type of keyboard hookup. MSKEY software is only available with Microsoft IntelliType version 1.1 or later.
Remember to clean your keyboard regularly to keep it free of dust and debris.
Don't disassemble the keyboard because it may affect the validity of your manufacturer warranty!

Shift keys don't work. Both shift works for some letters but not many. Caps lock works, but not much good for symbols on number keys

This is probably due to a mismatch between the keyboard hardware (what is written on the keys) and the keyboard settings. For example if the keyboard is standard QWERTY US English and the setting is for French, pressing some keys will give the wrong output on the screen. You can correct this in the Control Panel / Regional Settings, Language settings (depending on your operating system). For your main language, say it is English, choose the appropriate keyboard, OK/Save etc. Good luck.

Keys on keyboard not working properly

Go to control panel, regional and language settings, ensure that the correct keyboard is selected (A UK keyboard and USA English selected or a USA keyboard with UK English selected is often a cause)

I use 2 different keyboard types too.
Have you tried pressing [Ctrl]+[Shift] to change the keyboard type you are in. Even if you choose a default language in a program all other program will still use the other keyboard type, hope this helps.
