Hi,

Have you looked at setting on the TV; there is sometimes a mode button to switch between different AV's. Also if the dish box and DVD box is seperate can you plug the DVD directly to the TV to check if that picks up anything or vice versa?

If your Remote has lost the coding which can happen if the batteries died or replaced then its worth re-coding the remote.

I hope this helps,

Thanks.

Press and hold either the on/off, VCR1 or VCR2 button on the remote. and hold it for about 5-7 seconds. It will release the lock and work fine afterwards. The lock is some kind of childlock device.

Disconnect all equipment, receiver, dvd etc. from power and remove batteries from remote.
Wait ten minutes and connect all back, this will reset all devices.

It is also possible that the codes are gone.  Try to reprogram the codes.

I have a flat screen and Dish Network for my cable. I switched the "source" to watch a dvd, and when I switched it back to channel 3 I have a blue screen. cable (dish network) is on and working....

It all depends on how your dish cable is connected to your television. The possibilities I can think of would be by composite cables (not HD)--these cables are the yellow red and white combo. It could also be component--the video cables are the blue, green and red. The other possibility is a single HDMI cable which looks like a rectangle and delivers both the video and the sound from the cable source to the T.V. as one cord. Depending on which of these you are using to output the signal from the cable box to the T.V. will determine which "source" you should select when trying to watch tv. Hope this helps!

I want to burn a dvd from what I have recorded in my dish network. How do I set up the player so I can watch the tv through it?

The easiest way to connect this is to find the cable going from the receiver to the TV and disconnect it from the TV. Connect this cable to the back of the DVD player where it says "in" or "input".
Next take another cable and connect it from the DVD player output to the TV. You may need to cycle or change your input by pressing the input or source button on your TV, in order to get a picture.

Vollume lost on TV 2. However, the vollume works when watching a DVD.

Try to unplug the receiver for 10-15 seconds and plug it back in to reboot. Also make sure the wiring on the main receiver is connected and secured. If you are still experiencing issues after resetting the receiver we will have to send a replacement out to you.

When we watch a dvd movie our dish network symbol floats around in the background. I have contacted dish, said not their issue contact sylvania

Hello, this is Dan Busa with DISH Network Customer service, What I would check is the cable coming from the receiver to the tv make sure you only have one set. If you only have one set coming from the box, check if it goes into the DVD player. If it does, hook the receiver up separately and it should work okay.

Cannot get a clear picture with dish network I have a Clear picture when using DVD

Sometimes the input/channel for the DISH Network and the DVD are different, and if using the same for both, then you will get an unclear picture on one. If at TV1, the tv will need to be on channel 3 or 4, and possibly an input such as video 1 or 2. The DVD player may be on a different input, such as video 3, or even just on channel 3 only. If at TV2, the tv needs to on channel 60 or 73. When using the DVD, try putting the tv on channel 3 or 4, that is normally the channel that the tv needs to be on. Also, make sure that the DVD player is not on while you are trying to watch just the dish.

How to hook up dvd to tv through dish network box

I do hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps.

From the receiver box:
You will want to connect RCA (red/white/yellow) from the TV1 slot to the IN on the back of the DVD. You can also use coax, which would then be connected to TV SET OUT on the back of the receiver.

From the DVD:
You will want to have more RCAs going from OUT on the DVD to the TV. Then the TV needs to be on channel 3 or 4, and on an input. Usually Video 1 or 2. The DVD will need to be on whenever you are watching the DISH.
