Your  computer is likely hanging because the Ram speed is faster that the BIOS was set to run. Change out the RAM for the proper speed one, the  DDR2 533.

If the memory slots have the same number of pins and fits in the slot provided for that bus type, you can run the memory. But due to the limitations of the hardware, it will only run at its peak Mhz of 533. This could cause a problem for the motherboards bus. I suggest using the recommended memory for the system.

try the known good memory stick and try to reseat the memory stick to every slot that your mobo have. so you would know if the problem is with the mobo or the memory stick itself

Bios upgrade

You can use Winflash to upgrade the motherboard BIOS or during boot using text or character driven interface . These utilities can be downloaded free of cost from the mobo manufacturer website. BUT MIND YOU IF YOU DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT ENOUGH OR NOT SURE OF THIS PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AS ANY ERROR IN THE PROCESS OF UPGRADING MOTHERBOARD BIOS WILL RENDER THE THE MOTHERBOARD USELESS. An 8x AGP PRO Card should work without hitches on tis mobo
