SOURCE: cant find where to change toner on canon dr 3060

Scanner is just an 'input' device and no toner is required. You need toner/cartridge only for printers/plotter (output devices).

SOURCE: Have Canon DR-3020 scanner. Installed,

I have worked on Canon scanners for many years and I am very familiar with the scanner you have now. That model of scanner will not work like a convential scanner do to its age and compatibilty with todays software. I have found a website that will allow you to download capture perfect to use on your scanner. If you continue to have problems you might want to email Canon directly to ask for a link that will be more specific to your scanner. Just remember when that scanner came out Windows 95 was state of the art for software. Since that time Microsoft has gone through several upgrades to windows. Here is the link and if you need any thing else let me know. I am very good with your model of scanner. I hope this helps you out.

Hi got the following error message ... "ScanFile

I have many years repairing canon scanners so here is my suggestion to you.

First does the scanner power up? If so that's eliminates a internal power supply problem.

Second did anyone change the dip-switch settings on the back of the scanner? Ill assume no on that one.

Third when you first boot up your computer do you see a screen when the computer is in boot up mode that says Adaptec SCSI and then a number? If not here is a couple things to check. First I would check the SCSI cable is good. No bent pins in the connector and no exposed wires coming out of the connector. If you can try swapping a good known working cable with the problem scanner. Second try re seating the SCSI card if that doesn't work do you have another card that you know works that you can swap into the problem computer. After swapping the cable first test to see if the scanner scans, then if you replace the card again retest to see if the scanner scans.

Lastly and I have seen this happen, the drivers may get corrupted if new software is installed that relates to scanning. You may want to google DR 3020 drivers that should pull up Canon's web site and reinstall the drivers. Once you install the latest drivers then reboot the computer and test it to see if it now scans.

Im sure one of my suggestions should correct your problem. I hope this helps you out.

Auto detection can not be set as default

A 'Driver' is only the software portion to connect two hardwares. You need to install a printer driver for Printer, or a DVD driver for a DVD drive. Similarly, the scanner driver just connects the scanner to the computer.
You need to use a Scanning software to use the scanner. Canon offers CapturePerfect 3, using which you scan documents, do rotation, convert to PDF etc. CP3 has option to detect the page size. CP2 is available free of cost from Canon sites. CP3 comes with the scanner.

Canon DR-3080 CII scans only half or right side of document

Try all formats, Color, Grey & Black & white. If you have problem it could be the scan module. Check for loose contacts, but this is rare in a working machine.

Canon 9080C not scanning 11x17 pages

The problem is probably in your scanning software, you have to tell it if you want to scan legal size, and if you leave it set for legal all the time it might put dark bars under the letter size docs. It depends on the version of software on your computer.

The scanner pauses half way throught the document

May be the location where it is writing the data is not 'free'. Do a 'deframent' of the drive where you intend saving the data. Ensure there is enough space on the Hard Disk

Not scanning full page Canon DR-3080II/CapturePerfect

U should select 'Scanners maximum'  and try this. I have found this does not work midway, after some scans. So close and exit out of captureperfect, re-enter and try. This should work.

Vista & Canon DR-3020

As per CAnon Europe site, it looks only version 3 of CapturePerfect works in Vist environment. What version do you use?

There is no mention about ISIS/TWAIN Drivers. In case you can load the drivers, you can try Microsoft Imaging to scan instead of CapturePerfect.
