My sony camera gives this message and lenz will not close.
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W7 Digital Camera, and everytime I turn it on it says "turn off and on again", also the lenz will not close. I can still look at all the photos and change the settings, but I cannot take photos! How do I fix this?

It is problem of lens mechanism that does not send initialize signal to system control chip and camera tries 3 times for that then give up so that error message comes in result. Replace lens assembly to fix the problem. Local camera repair shop will help you to replace it. Thanks.
Hi there First of all check to make sure the cards write protect is off, take the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on
the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will
be at the side of the card like this . Pop it back in the camera and try to format the card again, if you get the same error message again there could be a chance the card is damaged.
It is not your battery. I turned it on and off a dozen times with no luck. The lese would make up and down movements, but would never close and camera would not work when open. So while I turned off, I softely push the lense in after a couple of times it went in and closed as normal. After that I turn it back on everything worked normally. Do not push too hard, it may damage the lese.
