No sound out of no where?!?!?!?!!?!!?

Put some kenwood performance series 6.5s in my mazda truck, they worked fine everything was good and all of the sudden all of the speakers quit working, the head unit works but i have no sound they were all running at 4 ohms before you ask so it shouldnt have blown the channels, might just have to do what i did before and run everything through my old school orion XTR 475

i have reset the headunit it powers on and says it is playing however nothing comes out of any channels with default setting, i worked fine and out of nowhere it just went silent

it was the ground, the 6.5s were mounted directly to the frame and the paint had worn off causing a ground. i got some gasket material and put it around them, also i wouldnt pay $100 to have it fixed for 2 reasons ill use my xtr475 because it sounds better, and i only paid $85 for it from alpine on ebay. they sell returns and such, there's a lot of x200s because people go ape **** when they find it doesnt have a cd player lol

The amplifier inside the radio has failed.

You will still get an RCA output that you can use for your standalone amplifier - but what Im telling you to do is check all speakers for grounded voicecoils (blown) because the amplifier inside the radio failed for a reason... and if your amplifier's output FETs fry, you will have a much costlier repair.

Alpine sells replacement parts to ONLY certified Alpine repair centers, and you're looking at $100 to replace the radio's amplifier.

before doing that, check all the speakers for ground continuity. Make sure they are not blown, read close to 4ohms, and wires are not touching metal.

You may have the same result on your stand-alone amplifier. There is a problem, and you should find out before wiring up your amplifier.

I have an Kenwood 12" sub woofer everything looks good but it will not do anything

The assumption is that it is a passive speaker with no crossover circuit. If you connect a good 9 volt battery to the speaker and neither hear or see a sound or movement the next step is to confirm with a multi-meter an open voice coil circuit.

It is possible to repair a broken wire but not likely a burnt- open voice coil.

Hope this helps?

Just performed a new install on this. Everything powers up and works fine, including the power antenna. Followed set up instructions including selecting speaker output but no sound at all? Radio station...

It sounds like you may have the negative and positive polarity wrong usually to the speakers. I suggest to use black for negative and red for positive so that each speaker is correct. Speaker wire is good but for self installs its a common mistake.

Will 2 KENWOOD KFC-6982iE fit in 1999 mazda protege

If they fit then put them in. The only thing is, if your not using a amp they may not sound good.

Kenwood hac 9152d, was working fine now doesnt output any sound

Check the fuse on the amp.

My girlfriend had the same thing, light was on, no sound whatsoever. The fuse on the amp had blown, but I'm guessing some current must have made it through to just put the light on. Make sure you have a 40 amp fuse in it, that's what it needs.

Good luck

I have a kenwood 719 flip out monitor and i put a cd in it and the monitor says mecha error and won't let the cd come out. It just makes a bunch of noises. I pressed the reset button but that didn't work....

You can try to push the CD in further with an object and then try ejecting (be careful not to break the CD!). Also, the soft reset button on the outside of the unit may not work, but disconnecting constant power (hard reset) may cause the CD to automatically be ejected when powered back up again. This can be done by disconnecting the negative battery terminal on the car for 15 seconds. If these don't work, visit a local Kenwood stereo dealer for service as this is a common issue with the 719 series and 819 series.

Kenwood head unit CD and AUX sound not working

I fixed the sound problem with tech support from Kenwood. I had the blue wire from the Kenwood which is the antennae turn on wired to the amp turn on for the vehicle (2001 Blazer with Bose factory stereo). This is how I was told to wire it from the installation tech where I purchased the wiring harness. The tuning played fine because the Bose amp turned on when I played the tuner but when I played the cd or aux the amp turned off, thus no sound. The kenwood tech toldd me to wire the blue/white wire to the amp turn on for the vehicle so the amp would be on when ever power to the Kenwood was on. I rewired this way and everything works great now.
