Question about Nikon D40x Digital Camera

1 Answer

Battery charging problems

I purchased the D40x (new) and used the charger that came with it to charge the battery. I used the charged battery until I depleted it. I stuck the battery on the charger for over an hour and when I re-insert it into the camera, it shows there is no charge. I did this with two different batteries, no luck-no charge. Also I bought a new charger thinking this might be the problem but they still dont work. Any suggestions?

The charger slot on the phone does not work when plugged in, think it needs a new port

Hello,

Why don't you use the charger to charge a similar phone or use a similar charger aside yours to charge your phone to see if it is the charger or the charging port.

If your charger charges a similar phone as yours, it means the charging port of your phone is bad.

But if it does not, the charger is the problem.

If it is the charging port, all you need to do is to replace the charging port and your phone will charge.

Take care.

My battery will not charge. I purchased a new

The flashing on a charger usually means that the battery is defective or will not take a charge. I would take the battery back to the vendor and have them check it. A good indication is that if your old battery took even a small charge, it is not usually the charger that is the problem. It points to the new battery being faulty.

Does leaving handset in charger shorten battery life

I used to repair pagers for Motorola and back then the biggest problem we had was from bad batteries. Firemen would go on vacation and leave there pagers in the chargers while gone. They would return in a week or two and find that there pagers would not work. The chargers heat the battery while charging and this continued heating after charging would ruin the batteries. New chargers aren't as bad but it is best to cycle your battery. Run it until it needs charging, charge until charged then use until it again needs to be charged. Refrain from unnecessary charging. If you properly cycle a battery it can last for 2 or 3 years before replacing

I pod problems

Hi
I think your battery may be going bad or you need to purchase a wall charger to fully charge your battery. Charging your iPod on your computer works fine for a while, but as the battery gets older, it needs more charging and often it doesn't get enough from the computer. Try a wall charger first. Charge it all the way up until it stops charging. If it still shows a low battery you need to have a new battery. There are a lot of places that can do it. Hope that helps.

Phone doesn't hold a charge

MzRendevous, It sounds like you do have a battery issue. Batteries for cell phone don't tend to last long, but if you do purchase a battery, try this to get longer life from the battery. 1. Charge the battery without using the phone until the battery is fully charged. 2. Once fully charged, use the phone like you normally do until the phone shuts itself down because there is no power. 3. Charge the battery again without using the phone until fully charged. 4. Then you can use the phone and charge it anytime you want. You can repeat these steps as much as you want, the more you do it, the more life you'll get from the battery. -- As far as the charger, if you have to adjust it to get it to charge, it could be the cord or the prong on the inside. I'd goto a store and test another charger, if it's available. You can probably get cheap batteries/charges on EBay or anywhere on the internet. Let me know if I was helpful for your questions. John
