Sound driver for my intel mboard D946DZAB

1. Visit the Intel site at www.intel.com from there you should be able to download the driver for your soundcard
2. If not your driver may be archived and you will have to contact tech support or customer support to have them send you the installation disk.
3. Another solution is to purchase another soundcard and install it with new drivers for the new soundcard.
Most computers will disable the on board soundcard and direct sound to the new soundcard

My Matsonic MS 8157E motherboard has a built in Soundcard, but it does not work anymore, I tried to install a PCI soundcard, but no mather what I try to disengage the built in soundcard, I have no luck,...

There must be a place in your BIOS where you can disable the on-board sound. Navigate to each screen using your arrow keys, <enter> key and find the on-board sound feature. With it highlighted, use the [+] to change it from "enabled" to "disabled". Press F10 (or follow the on screen instructions for saving) and reboot.

Then try installing your PCI sound card. Install it in the slot first, then when prompted by your OS, load the software that came with the device.

Configuring two soundcards for parallel functioning

a windows computer can only use one sound card for one function

you can use the internal sound card for output
you can use the usb sound card for input / recording.

you can't use both for both.

Start -> control panel -> sounds and audio devices properties
open up audio page

You can have one device selected on Sound playback
You can have one device selected on Sound recording.

you can change which sound card is used for which function on this page. if you want to use the internal sound card set both settings to the internal if you want to use the external change both settings to the external.

No sound card detected even though I can hear CDs from PC

first check that you are having no problems with your soundcard, go to control panel>system>hardware>device manager and see if there is a yellow exclamtion mark next to the soundcard.. If there is then try updating the drivers for it, or uninstalling it by right clicking it and choose uninstall then reboot the computer, the soundcard will be picked up as new hardware and should be installed again. Before you do this though you need to be sure that you have a pci soundcard actually installed and not an onboard chipset soundcard. If you have an onboard soundcard then it may not be good enough for games to be played. A lot of games require a minimum type of soundcard. Check to see what you have. Go to control panel as explained and write down the model number of your soundcard. Then check the minimum requirements for the game you are trying to play.

Audio volume keeps changing by itself

No, the headphone output is designed for 2 speaker output. Just recently I had a customer who had no sound coming from the desktop speakers yet the headphones worked just fine.
I believe that your model has a sound circuit integrated into the motherboard. It may have a “plastic cap” covering the audio ports (next to the USB ports). If you remove the sound card and enable the integrated audio in the BIOS, you can check to see if the sound card is actually the problem.
