Scanning error - cannot scan error code 2,155,0 ???

I connect to my laptop to scan pictures, and each time, each single time the scanner will start scanning an inch but it stops and I get the message Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off. Check status. Scanner driver will be closed. Code: 2,155,0" The closest I get is it will scan one or two, but same problem persists. Today I totally cannot scan one thing! What is wrong? I've tried everything... CanoScan 8800f was scanning fine for a few weeks, then started giving "cannot communicate with scanner" error code 2,155,0

i found this while i had the same error msg... apparently its actully the USB cable where its does not suffice

SOURCE: Canon 8800f - black space - positive slide

There is actually an issu with those series of scanners. Did you upgrade your driver ont the canon website? I had same issue, never get rid of it and change to Epson. I did scan 50 000 of slides in my career. I found at some point that some of bigger window slide where not recogninze while smaller window ones where almost okay. Try changing the sides of the slide in the holder to get better cropping in some situations... Let us know!

The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user i get this darn error. I use this scan multiple times a day and all of a sudden i see this.... why?


Hi,

The error message could be Twain Driver error or ScandAll pro Application error. Please go through the followings:

SCANDALL-PRO APPLICATION ERROR:

Error Code: [SA01020E] No scanner is found.
There is a possibility that no scanner is connected, the connected scanner is not turned on, or the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Status: [Scan] or [Select Scanner] is specified, but no connected scanner is found. Or, the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Action: Make sure that the scanner is connected and is turned on. If the scanner is currently used by some other application, use the scanner after the application ends. Make sure that the driver selected on the [Scan] tab of [Preferences] in the [Tool] menu is installed correctly.

TWAIN DRIVER ERROR:

-The scanner may be OFF or not connected. Check the power supply of the scanner or connection with PC.
-The scanner may be already in use by other application or the "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel].Close other application or "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel]

-The connected image scanner is not a model supported by this driver. No image scanner is connected. The cable is disconnected.Check whether the image scanner is connected.

-Another application may already be using the image scanner. Alternatively, the TWAIN driver may have been activated twice.Terminate all applications, and start scanning again.

I have a Fujitsu 4220c2 scanner and when scanning multiple documents it'll take one half half/quarter way through and get stuck. The pick roller and pad assembly have been replaced. What could be causing...

Thank you for contacting Fixya.
This error is detected when one of the followings occurs: (TWAIN Error-Paper jammed in the ADF - Code DS32002), Scanner panel error-U1
1) A document does not reach the TOP sensor while the scanner has transported the document about 250 mm to pick. (The scanner performs retry operation.) 2) The trailing edge of a document does not reach the TOP sensor after the scanner transports the document by the length (L) below. (The document may have slipped on the rollers) Check the followings: 1.Scan condition - Transported length (L) before jam 2.ADF fixed size - scanning Approximately 450 mm 3.Long paper scanning -1.2 times of the specified value
If the imprinter is installed, paper jam can occur in the following case. If the scanner starts scanning when the imprinter cable (EXT cable) is not connected to the scanner, it does not rotate the imprinter, since it recognizes the imprinter not installed, which results in paper jam in the imprinter section.
Solution:
Remove the jammed document and close the ADF. When the error frequently occurs, refer to the followings:
1. Do the documents satisfy paper specification? Please read the operator guide for paper specification. 2. Have the documents been jogged? • Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding. • Remove documents with crease or dog-ear. • Scanning different width of documents may cause skew and result in paper jam. 3. Is the Imprinter EXT cable correctly connected to the scanner? Check the cables. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 4. Clean rollers in ADF and Imprinter and see if the error is removed. (only when the Imprinter is installed) 5. Replace Pick roller and Pad ASY and see if the error is removed. Check the consumable counter from the TWAIN driver screen. When the counter exceeds the values shown, replace Pick roller or Pad ASY.
If the above do not help, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
6. Malfunction of TOP sensor. 7. Malfunction of Cover open sensor. 8. Faulty Scanner Control PCA.
If Imprinter is installed, then the issue could be caused by the followings:
1. Malfunction of Sensor OPB5 lever (only when the Imprinter is installed). 2. Malfunction of Motor LF if the imprinter roller does not rotate.(only when the Imprinter is installed). 3. Faulty Imprinter Control PCA. (only when the Imprinter is installed).

Scanning Without HP Hardware

1. Click Start
2. Control Panel
3. Click Scanners and Cameras
4. Click on the Icon and follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions.
5. Select the HP scanning device from the TWAIN source list
6. Click File and then Scan New .

Scan two pictures or images at a time


place both photos on the glass and scan, in the scanned image drag a select box around one photo, select "cut" and paste as new image and save. Repeat with second picture

How to Default Duplex Scanning

Trouble shooting


The "car sound" could be an indication that the scanner is locked. Check the lock switch on the bottom of the scanner. Move the switch back and forth a few times and then leave it in the locked position. Another possibility is that you are scanning heavy items such as books. If too much weight is placed on the scanner glass, then pressure could be enough to prevent the scanning element from moving as it should.

The code 201 sometimes can indicate a power issue...meaning the scanner is not getting enough power. Try connecting the usb cable to a different port on the computer (preferrably directly to the computer and not through a USB hub).

Scanning does not stops


please check all sensor arms in the document feeder. The sensor arm in the middle just below the separation pad is called 'paper end sensor'. If this sensor arm is blocked or broken the scanner don't stop the feeder.
Another possibility is a driver error.

Getting error code Code[ffff:0024]while scanning


while i am trying to scan the images .. i am getting the error code like Code[ffff:0024] while warming up the scanner, besides a sound from the scanner making it power off (light inside the scanner goes off ) so that i could not get scanned anything ... what will be the reason ? please suggest me the trouble shoot kaarthik
