Drain hose broken where it enters washer om back

The plastic thing that goes on end of drain hose where it enters on the back of the washer broke off. have new part. Also have clamps. Do you have to remove back of washer to put it back on. Seems there is a lip on the end of it that should fit under something to keep it from coming out. Hope you can understand my wording. Thank you Laura

It appears your hose clamp has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to or and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Water won't drain from to change pump.everything else works fine. nothing pluged.

Does water drain when washer goes from wash to rinse or is it just at the end after rinse. It could be a switch on the cycle timer not working if it doesn't pump out at all. If it doesn't pump out at only the end maybe one of the cams on the timer that makes the switch to dump water is loose or broke.

How do I replace drain hose

Do you mean the hose that goes to your standpipe, or the hose that goes from the drain pump to the plastic box(26) behind the washer?

In any case, to remove the hose (8) going from the back of your washer to the stand pipe, grab a pair of pliers and squeeze the wire fingers sticking out of the clamp (28) holding the drain hose to the plastic box on the rear of your washer. That relieves the tension of the clamp and, while still squeezing the wire fingers, slide the clamp up the drain hose a couple of inches. Then, you can pull the drain hose loose from the plastic piece.

Then, using your pliers again, completely remove the clamp from the old drain hose and put it on your new drain hose, about 3 inches back.
Then, stick your new drain hose onto the plastic piece and use your pliers to get the clamp back down to secure the drain hose to the plastic piece.

You should be able to figure it all out with no problem.

What can be wrong with my washer my kenmore washer wont spin

I've posted on this subject before. Your washer will not cycle correctly if there are any restrictions in the pump and this usually means that during doing the wash things have been transferred from your clothes generally the pockets. ..These things usually get lodged in the pump. When the washer enters the spin cycle the pump kicks in and pumps out the excess water. If you can get the back off the washer you will see a semi - round object that is usually white with 2 hoses coming out of it. One hose is the water in let hose the other one is attached to the drain hose that goes into the sewer drain outside of the washer. Make sure that the washer is unplugged then remove the hose that goes to the outside drain. Now with a flashlight look inside of the pump and see if you can see any debris or foreign objects. If you see anything in there you will have to remove these things through the hole where the hose connects. After removing debris replace hose inspect the surrounding area for obvious reasons why the washer may have stopped like look to make sure that the belt on the drive motor is ok. With no other signs of problems replace the back of the washer andplug it back in and try to sstart the washer just like you were just starting a new load of laundry. G

Took apart the washer and dryer and need to put it back together...i have everything except where the clear plastic hose goes

Kristen-follow the hoses-water comes into machine at the water supply valves-hot and cold which go into the tub-then there is a drain pump which is connected to the tub via a hose-the out put of the drain pump is connected to the drain through the back of the machine usually at the bottom and this goes into your houses' drain-follow the hoses and you shall reach laundry success-cheers Denny

Kenmore Series 80 fills with water and won't stop filling until manually advancing the timer, does not agitate but will spin and drain.

Good day,
Sounds as if the water level switch is bad, or the hose to it has broken, come off or is plugged up at the base where it enters the tub.
Remove the 2 screws that hold the console in place. They are either at both ends front, both ends front but hidden by end caps that have to be un clipped, or lastly at the bottom back.
Pull slightly forward and rotate the console up from the front and away from you.
You will see the water level switch with a plastic hose pressed onto it. Remove the hose, and blow into it with the tube partially filled. You should hear it gurgle. If broken, the air will just escape, if plugged and you cannot get air thru it, it will have to be cleaned.
If everything checks O.K. with the hose, then the fill control (pressure switch) is bad, and needs replaced.

The agitation mode works thru the pressure switch, but the switch is bypassed in the pump out spin mode. That's why it performs as you described.

The whirlpool washer i have used for 10 years broke, beyond the point of fixing. I bought a new washer moved it in, but in the process realized that there is still water in the old washer and i can't find...

There is no actual drain plug. The water is pumped out by the machine. You could take the back of the washer apart to get to the pump but I think the easiest thing for you to do would be to scoop the water out into a bucket by hand or siphone the water out using a hose. If you get a long water hose you can stick one end into the washer and the other to a downstairs sink. Then **** on the hose on the downstairs end to start the water to move into the hose. Once you get the water started it should siphone the rest out on its own due to gravity.

Trying to replace the drain hose which goes from washer to wall but hose will not release from inside the back of washer. I removed the small bolt to plastic piece which goes around neck of drain hose, but...

The hose end should be attached to the outlet side of the pump. You need to be able to access the lower inside of the washer to get at the pump, which may be either from the front or back depending on the make and model of the washer. On front loader washers, look for floor level screws that release a lower front panel.

LG Dishwasher - drain hose replacement

Hello, I have just installed a similar model, and took the side panel off to see how it was put together ;)

The drain hose goes in the back of the dishwasher, then loops up the right side (as you are looking at the front)(this is to act as a "trap" to keep sewer gases from coming back into your washer, I assume), and then connects to the drain pump under the washer.

In order the change the hose, you will need to remove the left side panel, and the bottom panel, and this will give you access to the entire hose....

Hope this helps!
