If I bought a SATA dvd drive, where would I connect it to? Does it take SATA dvd, or does it still need to use IDE only?

This MoBo has 4 SATA connectors. Assuming you have one or two hard drives just plug it into one of the spare ports. If you are unsure, carefully follow the data cable from a hard drive to the MoBo to find the ports.

I am trying to find a lan driver for my Asus A8N-VM CSM rev 1.01 I dont know why this board is proving so difficult to find but it is.

The NIC (LAN) driver IS on the ASUS support page. IT is just not labeled as the NIC LAN driver.

It is labeled as the "NVIDIA nForce 430/410 Chipset SATA/RAID Driver Disk" under the "Utilities" folder.

I just installed this myself and it works great now.

Enjoy... And pay the favor forward some day.

Cheers.

put hard drive as Master. dvd rw as slave!
if DVD comes with sata then just put hard drive as master.
configure it on the bios setting!
if it still don't detect it
try replacing IDE cable and sata cable!
