Can I disassemble an hp office jet e609n printer, to clean the inside

Wisdom says no. If you want to clean the paper path easily go to an office supply store and get printer cleaning paper. It is sticky on both sides and will remove paper dust from the pick up roller and all the other rollers inside. It will also clean any leftover bits of paper from jams. Any internal dust buildup will be cleaned too.

What is causing my printer to says paper jam and there isn't one. what is causing this problem

Frequently the feed roller will wear out and not pick up paper. Check for slight smudge mark on the paper. The machine will identify a jam if the paper does not reach a sensor.

My HP J4680 All-In-One Printer has paper stuck in it and cannot be removed.

This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So if you have used any adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. If not there can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
So start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.
Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the rollers can be turned manually so that you will be able to feed a paper to see the progress of the movement while studying if there is any obstruction or damage to the paper.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Reassemble but make sure the rollers are aligned to be in equal gap to feed the paper without a side pull. Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction.

The paper doesn't want to feed when I print.

I have a HP3210 and it would not feed photo paper (HP brand) and I put a small amount of the fingertip moistener (the same type of stuff a bank teller uses to count bills) on the two feed rollers that are seen from the back of the printer and it seems to have solved the problem. The product used is SortKwik, and it was purchased at Office Depot. HP service reps were of no help and did not seem to care..their only solution was to buy a new printer!

HP Office jet Pro L7380 will not pick up paper

Paper feed problems are very common with HP officejet printers but don't panic...

Few things to try..
1. Check that when the printer tries to feed paper the wheel is dropping down and making contact with the paper.

2. Make sure you have not set the paper guides so the paper is too tightly held... try loosening them

3. Watch this little video on how to fan-apart paper and try doing this to get some air in between the paper sheets.. This often resolves many of the problems.

4. Try changing the paper for something a bit coarser or even cheaper as HP printers can be a bit "Fussy" about the paper they will feed best...

Hope that helps...

I have a laser jet printer HP color laserjet 5500 and lately i have noticed an increase in the number of times i have paper jams problems.what could be the reasons?

Hi dwigling:
You may need a new set of feed rollers. Check you feed rollers in the paper tray and if they are smooth you need to replace them.

chances are the feeder isnt feeding the paper at all, thats why you cant scan a single paper, try opening up the ADF and clean the feed rollers first, turn off the machine and gently rub the rollers again and again until you have a clean shot or surface, try this from thop to bottom rollers, please make sure though to insert uncreased paper and paper without eardogs on its leading edge, this could cause some delay upon feeding process

sometimes because it is exposed to dust, there is a tendency for the rolllers to slip, or you could be having a broken part that drives the feed rollers from your ADF.

Paper jam in HP 4255 office jet all in one printer

Clearing paper jams
Paper jams can be real or false. The unit may report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper. The solution to a real paper jam or a false paper jam is the same.
CAUTION:
Jammed paper must be removed using the rear access door with the power cord disconnected to avoid mechanical damage. Do not remove jammed paper from the front of the unit.
  1. Turn off the HP product and turn it around so the back of the unit faces you.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. The power cord must be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely.
  3. Locate and open the rear access door by pressing in on the left side tab and then pulling the door toward you.
Figure 2: Removing the rear access door

  1. Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door. Click How to Buy on this page to order replacement parts.
  2. From the rear access door opening, remove the jammed paper.
  3. Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
  4. Reinstall the rear access door.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.
Preventing paper jams
The following information will help prevent paper jams from occurring:
  • Never use paper that is torn or wrinkled.
  • If you are having problems using paper that has already been printed on once (recycling), replace it with new paper.
  • Remove and then reinstall the rear access door. Verify that the access door is fully locked in place. The paper can skew if the rear access door is not locked.
  • Every six months to one year, clean the paper feed rollers with a rag lightly moistened with water. Over time the paper feed rollers accumulate dust and do not function as well as they once did.
  • When printing envelopes, tuck the flap into the envelope and crease the folds before printing.
