Word application freezes while using 'find' in word 2007 getting error message 'word is trying to recover the doucument'

I have upgraded my office 97 to 2003 and 2003 to now 2007 i have installed SP1 for Office 2007 and i have syric language pack installed on my computer i have 300 pages document i am trying to use 'find' in that document whenever i am using find window to search the word in document word freezes and etting error message which says 'word is trying to recover document' next window is 'close the program you may loose your data after closing program' this is first message on that window second message in 'Wait for response' its really very frustrating i dont want to loose my 300 pages document its creating recovery files for that document I start Vista and open Word and try to get the find and replace box up. I have spells when this works and everything goes well from then on. But I run into patches where it hangs halfway up the page as a blank box, escape doesnt work, the whole computer freezes and I have to do a hard restart.
I am starting to think the bad patches occur after I have had the computer in sleep mode with an open document but I am not sure about this yet.
It all seems pretty random. Any ideas

Here is how to get around your problem.
-Run regedit.exe from the command line (regedit.exe)
-Go to and delete the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

Hopefully Microsoft fixes this problem soon.

I want to 'activate' afrikaans spelling check

Most Microsoft Packages come with language packages pre-installed..depending if you had installed it or not. But you will find the languages within the preferences of the package. Just select the wanted language and note to also select that it must be 'default' (if you want to continue only using the preferred language) and then you can start checking your spelling.

In other cases it might be needed that you would need to install the Office Language Language Interface Pack...which would change the entire interface to your recommended language.

You can read up more at the following address:

Office Language Packs address the needs of multilingual individuals that routinely create or edit documents and presentations in different languages.
Office Language Packs are available for purchase exclusively on the Office website. To download Office Language Pack, visit the Office 2007 Language Pack SP2, choose the language you wish and click Download, and follow the instructions.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

You must have at least XP Service Pack 2 to install Office 2007. Is your XP Service Pack 1 or 2? If not you have to upgrade to Service Pack 2 to solve your problem.
Go to http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html to get Service Pack 2 for XP.
