Question about Projection Televisions

3 Answers

One year out of warranty and the tv set developed and intermittent problem, after turning the set off, the standby led went off. The tv would not come back on. Finally after many attempts the tv returned to life. The problem persisted for two or three weeks. Then one morning, I tried to watch an HD program, the tv powered down and the standby light also went out and has not been able to be turned on since. I have heard of many reasons why an LCD tv would react this way,:cold temps, hot temps: and I don't know what to be true. The temp gets cold here in GA but not below zero cold. I have assumed by reading post about this particular manufacturer that this is a power supply issue.Basically the tv will not come back on.

Hello There.

You haven't mentioned which manuafacturer it is but Panasonic are well known to have a similar problem, and yes it is a Power supply problem. In particular it's the IC on the Power supply circuit board, but the solution is a new power supply.

Hope this helps.

Yes, sometimes during a cold day or night, condensation will build up and deposits moisture threw out the set. if this is on the power board, it will cause a short. i suspect a typical burn out of the power board. the capacitor's may have been fried. i would replace this micro board and its components.

Hi!

Yes it;s a power supply issue and you need to check out for the capacitors and any other burnt components on the power supply board. Also check for any loose connections if you have opened the TV

Hi! My toshiba 2100td tv is over 10 years old and last few years it's having weird problems. When it's turned completely off (not in standby) and when I turn it on, the screen blinks for a 10-

The real problem here is its age, a lot of these sets of that age critically needed parts are just no longer available.

I repair them but the real risk is someone fixed it, a few months later it develops another problem etc etc etc.

Ten years is now a days a long life for a TV.

TV comes on to standby, but with record led flashing. pressing power on , power light turns green for 1 second, click from within unit, back to standby with record led flashing

Hi,

Initially, have you tried a full hard reset? If not, pls unplug from the mains. Most current devices would reset and revert back to factory default settings (assuming no internal hardware fault) when unplugged for a considerable period of time (a couple of hours).

Pls post back for any development(s) or even the lack of it.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Samsung HC-P4752W Does Not Turn ON

The proble you have is an intermittant power supply or sweep power supply. Unless you can find a bad connection on the power and deflection board, this could be a very difficult problem to find. I have ran across this problem a couple of times, and after spending countless hours troubleshooting, I replaced the main board and all the problems were taken care of. The board part number is at samsungparts.com and I found the board for you. it is located here: http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP94%2D01266A&search%5Fmodel=HCP4752W Good Luck

Convergence is off

Starts up with black raster, then shuts down with LED blinking 4 times
This is the micro telling you that the auto grey-scaling procedure has failed. Change resistors R909, R913 & R922 (180k, 1%) on crt base PCB. You will probably find that all these have gone high
Standby only
Check R101 (4.7ohm), TR102 (C6180) and C126 (47uF, 16V)
Tv turns on automatically. Power supply works well, +5V present but seems that CPU (7700) does not (no standby mode), no remote or control on the front of the set
After replacing CPU (TMP47C434) and crystal 1770 (4.0MHz) both control worked intermittently. Replacing transistor 7674 (BC548) solved the problem
Will not work, standby (red) LED flashing
C604 in the 12V line is bad
Int going into standby
Replace C454 a 22nF smd, located near the Frame o/p ic.
