I had the same problem and found the solution on the following site!
http://www.lg-vu.com/index.php?topic=2660.0 Reading thru the blog you will find the best solution is to download the MP3 tag which there is a link for and untag the retag your MP3's and they will work. So easy but up to 6 hours or more to locate.

you slide off the back of the phone. Remove the battery. Then take out the sim card. Right beneath that is where the memory card is supposed to go. You can easily tell if it's in or not because you have to push it down and hear a pop. Hope that helps, I've had mine for three weeks now!:)

Take all files of the card and format it. Then right click on it go to properties shear it. I got a 4G and it works fine now.

I had the same problem trying to put an 8gig card in my LG Vu. The solution, return the 8 Gig card and buy a 4gig. The vu will not accept any cards over 4 gig.
