I've had consistent dsl internet service for over a year now using a Westell 6100. Then, starting yesterday, I've had periods of a red internet light (no internet), no internet light (no internet), and then a full green internet light (internet acess). I have what is called a dry loop phone line (not an actual phone line - only for internet use). I've heard that a red light may mean phone trouble, but I'm not sure that is the case. I've had a Tivo for four months, but haven't had any problems prior to this. Anyone have any suggestions?
How long have you had your router and how well is it maintained and well vented? Even the most expensive routers need these two things consistently. Failure in doing this may result in a shorter life span than normal. My guess without actually being there is that it's time to try a new one. If you get the same problem with the new router, take it back immediately and call your ISP for service. It could be possible that there is some phone work being done in the area, and you just happen to be a victim!

My 2Wire router is more and more frequently dropping wireless connection. Have already been through hours of phone tech support to no avail. Ethernet works flawlessly. Is this router going bad?

Internet works everywhere except at my apartment using a d link router. It used to work at my apartment and it just stopped. My roommates computers all still work.
