Kitchenaid KHMS155LSS-3 comes on by itself periodically and runs for 3 minutes. Display reads "Pan" and beeper sounds intermittently. Tried removing power to reset controller, but problem remains.

Usually the top vent front panel is held in by two screws and or clips, Get those off and the bottom of this peace should un hook, unless there are screws there also. if you can get this far, the rest will be obvious.

Starts by itself. beeps constantly when on. locks up in pan mode

You have a shorting membrane keypad. If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and of course one should never leave a microwave unattended while cooking.

On many Kitchenaid models, the keypad is not available as a separate part and you have to order the plastic control panel frame / subassembly (depending on model number) which comes with a new keypad.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Some connectors on the relays may have a lock:

Microwave beeping and F2 error code

hi,
The F2 code is a keyboard failure. Since it's intermittent I would check for a loose wire/connection. open the control panel and reset the ribbon cable on the circuit board....

Microwave will turn on by itself and display PAN on screen.

Does everything come on by itself or is it just a fan that comes on? If so, is it a convection oven?

Microwave turns on randomly beeps intermittently displays PAN

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour.

Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it and please reply back with your model number so we can help you.

Built in kitchenaid microwave starts beeping, then won't function. flipping breaker helps sometimes, but other times it doesn't help.

When this happens, what is shown in the display? Is it the same displayed info each time?

This is usually a failing membrane keypad, but your reply will help me know if it's that or some simpler.

Since yours is a different problem, please repost as a separate message and include your brand and model number.

Microwave beeps, error codes display and keypad stops working

It sound like you have a bad keypad or controls.

Is it possible that moisture from the sponge is getting into the controls?

You might contact the manufacturer to see if there might be a recall. I've seen keypad recalls in the past.

Anytime the keypad is suspected of coming on by itself, the oven should be unplugged when not in use.
