Question about EliteGroup P4M890T-M2 (V1.0B) Motherboard

1 Answer

I restarted my PC the other night, and now it doesn't recognize any external peripherals (USB/PS2). I've tried other keyboards that I know work, and I also did the same with the mouse, switching from USB to PS2 inputs and visa-versa. And no I didn't change ANYTHING in the BIOS or the system settings, Bad MoBo???

Dear Sir,

Here is Some Hints to solve your problem.
1.Check the Bios your PS2 ports are enabled,if disabled enable it.
2.Go to the device manager see your PS2 keyboard Driver enabled or not.If disabled enable it.
4.Finally Check your computer with new keyboard.

if all these are correct... you still have a problem
Deffinately there may be a problem with PS2 port of your computer motherboard,Then only one option is remaining, you can use USB to PS2 Converter Cable,Or a USB Keyboard.
If you have any other query post a comment with more information regarding the problem.I will try to assist you more accurately

This one isn't easy but it might be a compatibility issue with the keyboard although ps2 keyboard are suppose to work 95% of the time there is still the possibility that your keyboard is not recognized or is defective, as for the usb, most pc's don't recognize it until it has time to install the drivers within windows, hope this helps.

Computer will boot but will only displays press sel to enter setup and F12. No lights on PS2 keyboard. Tried USB keyboard no luck. No lights. CPU Fan is running and the hard disk is spinning. CD rom opens...

Try another PS2 keyboard.
Try a USB keyboard with a PS2 adapter.
Try resetting the bios using the jumper on the motherboard.
Try removing all of the dust you can from inside the case, reseating all the components and going through the process again. If you can't get it to recognize that a keyboard is installed and can't get the bios to continue despite the no keyboard error you'll have to replace the motherboard.

Asus M2N keyboard problem

You don't need a driver for a PS/2 keyboard nor a USB keyboard. The keyboard lights should lite up at post. After boot press the Caps Lock key and it will light the corresponding light on the keyboard if the controller works. If not it is the motherboard. If you are strapped for bucks get a mobo that can use the same cpu, RAM and drives. Good luck, Steve Medley

Bios does not find PS2 keyboard/mouse

Did you go into the BIOS and set it to recognize the USB Keyboard after you reset the BIOS? Is windows not noticing it or the BIOS. You stated that it recognized the USB keyboard and then said that it did not.
What does all of this mean? USB keyboard does not activate "del" setup.

If it does not work, it is because you reset the BIOS and did not change the settings back for the USB keyboard.

I hope that I fixed your problem.
