Question about JVC Video Cameras
I keep getting a ''communication error'' when I turn the camcorder on. I thought it might be a bad battery, so I replaced it. Still have the same issue. Is it possible the camera got a virus? if so how can I get it reprogrammed, or repaired?
Are you using original JVC Data batteries? The knock off batteries use a small cable to the charge port to defeat the battery chip in these JVC's.

Use a regular pencil eraser to clean all the contacts on both the battery and the camera. Other cleaners won't cut it. I tried alcohol and a cotton swab to no avail. I contacted JVC tech support and the eraser fixed the stupid thing.

Somewhere (usually a the back of the battery) there is a little socket. It's coverer by a tap. Use the small cable (which is provided along with the battery), to connect the battery with the camera' s DC socket. It works!
