Hello My side burner is leaking gas. I can hear the gas flowing even thought the knob is in the off position. But it doesn't click like all the other burners. Eddie

If the gas you hear is coming from the burner, rather than the side burner gas supply hos, the control knob may be stuck in the "IN" position. Turn the gas tank OFF, before attempting any repairs and disconnect the hose from the tank.

Now that there is no pressure on the side burner control knob, try using it as you normally would. What you're looking for is full function of the knob. Push it it and turn it to the light position. Does the knob pop back out when you release it? If it does, that's a good sign. If memory service me correctly, the gas supply line to the side burner as a quick connect on the hose to connect it to the burner. if so, disconnect and reconnect it to the burner. Does the quick connect slide back into place and connect properly? If not, that is what's leaking. But, to make sure, there needs to be gas going to the grill. Reconnect the hose to the tank and open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, test the side burner hose connection and the hose (squirrels like to chew on the hose) by brushing on a soap & water solution to check for leaks. If you see bubbles that grow in size, that's a leak. Turn the gas tank back OFF. The side burner hose will need to be replaced.

If there were no leaks on the connection, check the burner knob for operation. Does it operate like it should with no smell of leaking gas? If not, the control knob valve will need to be replaced.

The parts you may need can be purchased from Ducane Customer Service 1-800-382-2637.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

WIIL NOT FIRE I REMOVED BURNER AND CLEANED IT AND SENCER IT FIRED. tHE NEXT DAY I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. i DID SEE A GREEN LIGHT FLASHING ON THE rOBERTSHAW CONTROLER. WILL THIS HELP TO TROUBLE SHOOT MY...

When you removed the burner and replaced it did you bump the thermocoupler? If that isn't in the pilot light flame or ignitor heat, it will not allow your gas valve to open and send gas to your burners.

If it isn't misaligned then it could be bad or just corroded/caked and need cleaned.

Front burner will not light the igniter is good it woks in the other burner and i put a good igniter in the burner and it will not work

What happens when you use a long match or a long butane lighter? Does the gas ignite?

Since the igniter is working in another burner, then either the gas isn't getting to the burner (sealed burner blocked), the spark is being blocked or the electrical connection to the igniter is bad.

Take apart the burner and clean the openings. Make sure that the hole in the part that slides over the electrode is clear (use a needle or the wire from a twist-tie). See page 28 of the manual. (available online from http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/ . Enter the model and click submit). Make sure you replace the parts of the burner correctly.

My range also has an orifice at each burner that could be blocked. Turn off the gas before investigating this. Look at the instructions for converting the range from NG to LP - this should be attached to the back of the range near the regulator. This will tell you how to access the orifice and what size wrench to use. I believe my range uses 10 mm.

To check the wiring, you may need to lift the cook top. Often the top is secured with clips on the left and right sides.

I hope this helps.

Fire goes out and gas continues

What you described is not unusual with the main burners of a gas grill. As, there is no thermocouple on each burner, that would shut the gas off to that burner. You must turn the burner off, yourself. To the best of my knowledge, there is only one American made grill that has a thermocouple on each burner and it isn't a Weber grill.

If it's the infrared rotisserie burner, you're talking about, then that's a problem. That burner does have a thermocouple that may need cleaning or replacing.

Hope this helps to solve the problem.

Firemagic ECHELON E660i - flames shoot out around the orfice heat stressing the front panel, making controll knobs too hot to touch and allowing flames to shoot up onto the lid, grill is 20 months old. ...

Has this been happening since new or did it just start?

Either way, you need to check the burners for proper placement over the burner orifices. Are they fitted snugly? Are they running perfectly parallel to each other and resting properly on the back inner cabinet of the grill, in the burner holders.. Also, make sure that the orifices are screwed in tight and are not clogged. Check the burners for clogs and if found clean out the burners, by gently tapping them on a firm surface. After doing that, turn the up so the orfiice end is down and see what falls out of the burner(s). If the burners or orifices were clogged or the orifices not tight, it may be backfiring into the control panel. This can also indicate a gas pressure problem.

If you can remove the front control panel (remove the burner knobs, first) you can access the gas fittings to each burner's control knob and it's gas fittings. Without lighting the grill, turn each burner ON and check for leaks with soapy water at all the connections. Then turn it off and check for leaks again.

If you found any leaks, check each fitting to make sure it's not cross threaded and re-tighten.

If none of the above solves the problem, contact the Fire Magic Dealer you purchased it from or the R H Peterson Company (they make the Firemagic Grills), as it may be a manufacturer's defect. They have an excellent warranty program. For a warranty claim, you will need your Proof of Purchase.

Hope this helps to get you back grillng>

Low flame when all four burners are on

This sounds like one of two things - either the gas regulator (the big bulky thing between the tank and the BBQ that is usually round) is faulty, in which case it needs to be replaced, OR (and a much cheaper fix) the air intakes on the grill itself are clogged.  Get underneath the grill, and look where the gas lines connect.  There should be some sort of mesh material where the lines connect to the different burners - make sure those are really clean, as the burners depend on a precise mix of gas and air.
Good luck!

Grill mysteriously not working, gas tank full, can't smell or hear gas come to burner

Go to Dome Depot. Lowes or whomever your large hardware store is and get and new regulator and connecting kit (it is probably the regulator), they are not expensive. If this does not do it, it may be the valve on the broiler, but not likely.

Viking range burners won't light

All of these ranges have a spark module at each burner sight and they all click when ever you attempt to light one burner. Therefore, it can not be assummed that the spark module for those nonworking burners are actually clicking. Remove the burner covers and actually look for the sparks. If there is no spark make sure the connections are nice and tight. IF they are, you most likely need to replace the spark module.
