Question about Toshiba Satellite A65-S126 Notebook

1 Answer

Laptop won't boot up.

My father has the Toshiba Satellite a65 s126 laptop. When I went to boot it up, they had left the start-up disc in there and it asked me to press F1 or F2 and then put in the date and time. After that, the screen just went black and did nothing. I pressed F2 first which said it would reboot to default settings, but like I said... it did nothing.

I restarted the computer to try and see what would happen if I pressed F1, but now the computer won't even recognize the disc.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried looking in the BIOS settings (f1) to make sure that the boot order includes CD/DVD drive before your hard drive?

Http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd I have used this program at school to bypass bios passwords and i find it to work well.
You may also try to type Toshiba where it asks for the password.

This generally indicates that the disc is corrupt. It can be anything from a scratch, degraded read section on the disc, or a distortion from the disc getting bent or hot (left in direct sunlight). You will most likely have to use a different disc for the install.

Removing memory from Satellite A65-S126 Toshiba laptop

The built in 256 is integrated into the motherboard, and is not removable. If it's faulty, then, unfortunately, the motherboard will have to be replaced. There's no other way around it.
