Watch is about 23 years old.O ring seal had been missing for awhile and water may have gotten in from usual hand washing. New battery runs for about 5 min. then watch stops. Movement may had excessive friction. Can I use electrical contact spray to clean it, let it evaporate, than put new battery in?

If you go to "www.sportscounters.com/seiko-s149-stopwatch-printer-all-in-one" you will see a telephone number, try calling them for advice.
(This problem is fairly common after replacing batteries, so I suspect that there is a procedure for resetting the timer.)
