Water leaking in espresso machine

I have a Krups XP2010 espresso/ coffee drip machine, and it has been working great for several months now, but all of the sudden, whenever I turn the espresso on, all of the water from the tank is going to the overflow tray, and is getting everywhere. I have been making espressos for a very long time, and have done nothing different for this to happen. I have made sure that the water tank is positioned properly, and that it is filled. I was wondering if anyone knew what was causing this and how to fix it.

This machine is a piece of junk! The espresso maker broke after only 20 uses and the coffee part leaks all over the counte. Unfortunately, the warranty expired (we've owned it for 14 months but have only used it for 11). I would not adivse ANYONE to buy Krups products, because the company does not stand behind them any more.

I have a Krups 2010 and it leaked from day one I used it for about a month before I decided to fix it myself instead of paying for shipping it to them. After opening the back (yes the warranty is broken) I took some photos and here is what I found. Poor quality control there are two screws holding a hose interface to the reservoir and they are not tight or became loose since they are metal screws going into plastic that get hot and vibrates.
The fix is to tighten the screws just slightly so that you do not crack the plastic then dab them with nail polish so that they do not move. (see second photo). This machine still makes one of the best espressos I have tasted and now it is one of the easiest to clean.

To open back side:
remove 6 cross screws
Sides are now loose but top and bottom are fixed by a plastic flange of 2mm. simply pull the back cover off with fingers hooked on each side, the cover will flex. Otherwise cut the bottom flange with a knive and use some duct tape to fix it later at that spot.

Having same problem PLUS now the pump doesn't seem to want to work. Takes forever to decide to try to pump, makes some labored thumping groaning sounds, sends LOTS of steam out around the side of the coffee grounds holder but no more espresso. I can't find anywhere to get a replacement pump. Any ideas?

Here is the manual for you, please give it a few minutes to load it's a somewhat large file. If you need it emailed to you please respond back to this post and I will email it over. Here is the manual (you will need adobe reader to view it, but you probably already have that installed):

Where can I order a krups xp series seal MS-0A01503? It is a seal for the plunger that expels the coffee cake after brewing. It started to leak and I need to replace it.

Nelson Appliance has this: http://goo.gl/bsjqj. I think this is what you are looking for. The description they give is: Boiler center gasket / seal #MS-5015004 for use with Krups XP7000 series espresso machines.

Very little water comes through...small drips...enough to get the grounds wet but not enough to make coffee.

Hi,
mix half white vinegar and water together...then pour this solution in just as you would if you were making coffe....minus the coffe grounds of course... then run it through a cycle and then run clear water through again... and you will be good to go...do this once a month or so to keep it working great...

Water steams away and nothing drips into the caraffe

I had this problem too and finally found a fix for it.

I don't know if the cause of this issue is the same for everyone experiencing the problem, but the issue for me was hard water. The fix is to run vinegar mixed with water through the machine quite a few times, until it starts to run normally.

If you do have hard water issues, it's recommended that you run vinegar or citric acid through the machine about once a month, to keep deposits from building up.
