Dryer heat and runs for about 30 secs and then shuts off
Inside the back and the bottom of the dryer are several ( from 3 to 7) "overheat thermostat switches" that are there to prevent your dryer from catching fire from overheating.
I suspect one of of these has failed, and it "tripping".
Someone with a good electrical meter and a set of tools can check each one and find the bad one.
Be blessed.
SOURCE: Dryer runs & heats but shuts off after 3-10 minutes
the motor overload can caouse that problem in that case new motor is needed if the dryer turn right back on after it turns off the even heat control board in panel bad if it humms are no noise after turn off and you have to let cool down the motor is the problem
SOURCE: Dryer heating element(s) are inconsistent
there is only 1 element. were you taking these readings with the wires on them?
the other 2 were thermostats.was there lots of lint?
sounds like you may have bad thermostat.
SOURCE: runs but does not heat
Sounds like the timer may have failed if the dryer continues to run for hours and hours. And this may be what keeps the heating elemnts from coming on.
Reply your findings and I can help you more.
SOURCE: Element heats, dryer tumbles, no heat in drum, never shuts off
Hi, If the dryer heats but will not advance in either time or auto cycles, you need to change the timer.
You can test to see if the timer is getting voltage. Remove the top rear panel and locate the two wires going to the timer motor. There should be 120V when the dryer is running in time dry.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.
Thanks
Vic
