Hi Carl,It uses R12, u can't buy that now.I would look up a a.c.specialist and call and ask what type you use and how much to install, best to let them do the job, they will check it completely, you may have a leak,I take mine to cool air if if I need it.

SOURCE: the ac only blows warm air, have recharged it with freon but it only cools minutes before blowing warm again, could find no leaks

There are special cans of R-134A with dye in them for detecting leaks. Most leaks occur around the fittings near the compressor. Recharge the system with the leak detector can or R-134A. There are also cans of R-134A with an additive to stop leaks. I would use these products to either detect your leak or to stop it. Best of luck.

SOURCE: 97 Olds Aurora AC blowing warm air a day after recharging system

Several- The system should hold freon for years without leaking. There are pressure switches and they cut off the compressor with an undercharge and an overcharge. You need guages to measure the charge. There are testers the A/C shops have called "sniffers" which can detect a leak. If you have no leak then you need a technician to add or remove freon to get the concentration right. Or you need guages.

SOURCE: need to recharge ac in 1995 chevrolet blazer. Not

1995 should have 134A. Look on the compressor and in the middle of it will be a sticker that says 134a or r12. If it is r12, you must retrofit it in order to charge it yourself.

Air not blowing

You just need a recharge.Go to an auto parts store and get a single can of R12 and the recharge line.Find the fitting on the AC line that the recharge line fits on(there's 2 but only fits 1)and hook the end on the can then on the fitting.THEN screw the puncture screw into the can lid to puncture the top of can, then turn that screw back out to release the Freon into the line and into system. To be sure you get all the Freon out of the can, stick the can in a small bucket of hot water while it's recharging your system. That's an old timers trick I use and it works.Once empty, remove the line from the fitting on the system first, remove the can from the line and save the recharge line.Ya may need it again one day.Engine must be running with AC on full when recharging the system.Stay Cool dude.

Air condition blowing hot air. Type of car: 2003 nissan pathfinder 4x4. Should I replace/add coolant?

Lack of Coolant wouldn't cause your AC to blow hot air.

You may have a vaccum leak in your dash board that is causing your heater to remain stuck.

If not this, then you will have to have your AC recharged. You can purchase a recharging kit from your local auto parts store! Fortunately, your vehicle can use the newer type of AC Recharging kits so you have many options!

Good luck and I hope this helped!

The AC will not cool car on hot days. The fan blows air, but barely cools it.

If your AC cools the air at all, then it is probably not a serious problem ... you most likely need to have your AC system recharged. You can take it in to a mechanic to have it refilled (shouldn't be expensive or take a long time) or you can go to an auto parts store and do it yourself. When you are at the store, make sure you are getting the correct type of AC coolant (a lot of times it is still Freon ... but some auto-makers stopped using freon in the 90's ... the clerk at the auto-parts store should be able to tell you what type you need). If you are unsure how to fill the AC coolant, the clerks at the auto-parts store might be able to help, but if they can't grab a Haynes manual -- it has step-by-step directions and pictures to help you get the job done right.

2004 Toyota Sienna and the AC is blowing warm air

Well, I would check to see if the compressor under the hood is engaging and the fan turns on to the radiator when switching the a/c on.

The most common problem for a car that is 6 years old is for r134a refrigerant to leak out through o-rings.

I would get an r134a recharge kit from your local auto parts store which consists of a tube and a can of freon with oil, leak detector, and sealant to help prevent leakage.

Hope you can get 'cool' air conditioning again.

A/c turns on and off fast, cools when running but wont stay on.

All the symptoms of your AC system needing a recharge. When the AC system is low on refrigerant, the compressor will constantly turn on and off as it requires at least 15psi of refrigerant to engage. Have your system recharged to solve your problem.

Ac compressor does not turn on when car has been sitting & it's hot outside. Works fine in the morning.

either the freon charge is about 1/3 low, or the expansion valve needs to be replaced. Freon is getting into the evaporator, but not in great enough volume to cool the air unless it is coming in cool to start with. check your ac charge, and if it is full, then have it emptied, change out the expansion valve, and recharge it
