Unwanted lines in word 2000

Suddenly, without warning my manuscript has lines of dots going across the page like a page break. I try to delete them but they keep coming back. I've been using this program for a long time and never saw this before.

They are called paragraph marks or formatting symbols. Look for a sign like π on the toolbar and click it. This should solve your problem

Make sure the ink cartridge is full or new. Get to the "Maintenance" page and try an alinement. (The ink dries and will clog the jets if not used often enough.)

Word 2007 has inserted unwanted line across page of a text document. I can't select and delete line. How do I get rid of it? nickdb

It is probably the header that needs editing. You can edit the header by simply double clicking on the text or right click and edit header. To delete header go to: Insert, header icon and delete header at bottom.

Hope this helps!

Unwanted headers/footers

I've never had this problem, but if you hit "Alt-F#," you'll get "Reveal Codes" at the bottom of your screen. Then go to the first page of the document where the problem begins, locate the code for the footers and headers you don't want, and then delete those codes.

Another, probably simpler approach is to click "Insert" and on the drop down menu, click "Header/Footer." Then unselect whatever is dotted. That should get rid of the headers and footers. JS
