Re: forgotten v-chip code
Turn the volume down to 0 then change to a blocked channel. (where it asks for v-chip password) Next, on the TV, not from the remote, hold the volume down button, and hold the '0' key on the remote for between 2-10 seconds... the screen should unlock and you should have no V-Chip restrictions.

When a red key appears in
the lower left corner of your Apex television screen, the set's V-chip is
engaged, preventing you from watching restricted content. You can override

The Apex prompts you to enter a 4-digit code when you set up

There is a way to unlock Panasonic TVs. It will work on most of the Panasonic sets. Just try it.
Panasonic sets need to be reset to clear the v-chip settings. To do this, put it in standby mode, that is, switch on the set by its front panel power switch, and put it off by remote hanset, [standby position], then press the POWER and ACTION buttons at the same time and then turn the power off. The set should reset to the factory defaults, and reset the v-chip.
I think your TV has been locked, and you have forgotten the four digit V_Chip code you have entered earlier. If so there is a method to refresh the V-Chip code. The orginal code for the V-Chip, when the TV exits the factroy is set "0000".
You can set to this code by the following method.
Press the remote control keys in the following sequence, which reset the pin to "0000".
POWER OFF==> MUTE==> 8==> 2==> 4==> POWER ON.
TV will come with a fresh V-Chip code "0000", which you have to readjust to block any channels if you wants. Ok.
Sharp has several locking and V-chip commands but one of these three possibilities should work.
Newer Combos With "Time Limiter" Feature If the "Secret Number" is forgotten, simultaneously press the STOP, RESET, and VOL up buttons on the front panel of the set. This disables both the "Channel Lock" and the "Time Limiter" features.
CTV's Lock Mode---Blue screen and display says,Parental Control Rating Unknown Try This: Hold Channel up and down on the set while pluging in AC cord. Or Try This: On the set, press volume up and channel down at the same time.
CTV's V-Chip Release When screen asks you to "input secret number" press and hold channel up and down on the TV set until message disappears. Press menu 2 times to exit.
Hope this helps!
