If you're using a router, try to lower down the MTU of the router. Set the size to 1463. Hope that helps.

Hi. you stated that your ram situation is approximately at 512. this is your issue. the ram amount is quite low and should be upgraded to 2 gigs at the least , considering what you are asking this machine to do. this software requires more ram to operate correctly. my recommendation is to upgrade your ram to 2 gigs at least. this will fix your issues. A quick defrag wouldnt hurt as well.

I had issues like this once.  How many computers are connected to your internet.  MJ is a very bandwidth hog of an application.  If you are downloading something on your computer, it seems to cut in and out.  This might fix your issue.  Unplug it.  Uninstall the drivers and software.  reboot. Reinstall the software from www.magicjack.com.  Reboot again.  This should fix it.

It is deffinately not your computer. Have you tried switching your headset out. If that does not work Try switching the entire unit. It sounds like there may be something wrong with the receive side of the circuit board. When the voice comes in to the receiving mixer to convert it from data to audio there is a set of limiters (diodes) that is suppose to stop any over voltage into the system. If those diodes are shot then what is happening is that there is to much voltage in the system which triggers the over voltage switch in the circuit. Thus turning off the phone. It is sort of like a surge protector that has gone out in the phone.

Hi

It seems you have quite slow upload on your network connection, try lowering the quality settings on the program you use the phone with, if you have a high quality setting on that takes alot of upload from your connection, your 200kbps may not be enought, so lowering the quality might solve the problem.

Hi!

You can manually download the update from Magicfix. install the driver update and reboot.
Check the USB cable, Just unplugging and replugging MJ can help too.

Also, keep in mind that it is a demanding device. You’re feeding 2 ways audio and data. If your computer is heavily loaded with auto-loading programs, has a lot of background things going on, or has issues, such a device can highlight them.

Its gonna get better....but I hate to tell ya....with the MJ it depends on your Internet connection...I have it for a year now...and worked out the bugs...and yes, with VoIP you have to dial the area-code.....get yourself a phone with speed dial...

I don't know what you're all done so far, but try a different USB port......change the phones, use a cordless....etc...!

if you use the Yahoo! Music Jukebox, it will not work!

also try ti set up a different user account just for the MJ.....and dont use the admin prev account...there are alot of little tricks...

MagicJack VOIP sound cuts in and out

Try your magicjack device in another usb port, as they sometimes share an irq internally with other devices, hence the chopped sound. Also make sure your computer is no trying to go into sleep or suspended mode, check the power settings to make sure the system is not shutting down devices in low power or battery mode if using a laptop, make sure the connection speed is good and strong, especially if connected to a laptop, and make sure nothing is hogging the cpu, causing the chopped sound. Also there could be issues with the router. Lastly, perform a firmware upgrade on your magicjack device, restart the machine, and then test it again. Good luck.

MagicJack VOIP sound cuts in and out

MJ ran fine for me from July 2008 to October 2009, when choppiness and cutouts started and continue to today. This is a MJ network problem, there is no fix in your own computer, as I have tried everything - computers, internet speeds, headset with phones unplugged, other Magicjacks. The MJ servers have just become overloaded. MJ is dead.
