Question about Goldstar MV-1310W/B Microwave Oven

1 Answer

I have a nine year old Goldstar over the Range microwave. It usually works great, however I need to replace the brown circle on the top of the range it sparks and now has a hole in it, I don't want a fire. Does any one know what that part is called? Thank Kim

I'm just a typical homeowner who just replaced one for an MV-1310W.
Here's the info on the bag sticker:

3301W2A017A
Desc: Cover Assembly, Stirrer Fan
Spec: AL 1.3Cu.Ft MV-1350M

Hope it helps...

How do I repair the keypad / input buttons?

Unfortunately, you are probably looking at a better choice of replacing the microwave rather than repairing the one you have. It probably needs a new control board and those usually will cost almost as much as a new microwave just for the part and not including any labor you might have to pay someone to install for you. Sorry!

My Goldstar over the range microwave made a grinding noise, grunted and flipped a circuit breaker. Reset the breaker and it did it again. 8 years old

Sounds like the transformer or magnetron might be bad. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4223574-microwave_oven_will_not_heat which explains the problem and the solution. It is geared more to a unit which will run but not heat but your problem also falls into that category. It should be easy to find your problem. It will be the shorted component. Let me know if you need more help.

Need to install goldstar mv1515b otr microwave but do not have mounting kit. Where to buy? what does it look like? can i make a mount for it?

you can not get a plate . only plate that mounts it is the one that came with it . now I did this with my own sharp and this wil work with any . cut the wall benind same size of micro / this will let you slide it into the wall almost 3 in . giving you more room to cook and work on range top. she loved this . then attach the front by the bolts from the top or screw/s to the side of both .. makes a neet install ..****/ feed back pls .. dont forget the power goes in the top ,,

No power

I would say a cooktop lamp got shorted by the moisture.

Assuming your circuit breaker is good, the main problem would probably be a blown 15A or 20A ceramic fuse inside the unit.

Once that's replaced, if the hood lights and /or exhaust fan still don't work, then your control panel would need to be repaired, which we do for $39.95 nationwide.

If you or someone you know decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

If and when you remove or install cooktop lamps, the power to the oven must be unplugged or turned off at the breaker.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

first remove mains cord from main power. and remove the microwave oven top cover and check the bulb and crefully remove the old bulb and put new bulb. at high voltagae section dont touch any thing ,that area very dangerous ,thats why very carefully work inside the microwave oven ..
