Hello, do you use any antivirus program or firewall program? if so try to close them and try the printing. if that works you need to allow some ports in your firewalls.

you can also try to go start->run and write "cmd" hit enter
then write in the black command prompt ipconfig. look for you ip adress should be like 192.168.x.x check both computers IP.
try to ping the other: write in the command prompt "ping 192.168.x.x" and see if the other computer answers. get back to me and explain your network little bit more. have your printer ever worked?

Re boot the computer with ,( wired or wireless printer?), the printer cable in the USB port in the laptop/desktop, the windows version you have will ID the device and try to load a driver, or Go to printer in the start menu and ADD a PRINTER the software will search for the attached printer. OR use the software that came with the printer, load into the Dell and follow the instructions.

This printer is not a wireless rpinter, so I guess you were trying to attach it to a print server of some type.

Try using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings,I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

If your computer came with Windows 7, then follow the procedure below. If you upgraded your computer, the did you install the chipset drivers first. If using a Dell Computer that was upgraded, the desktop/notebook system utility and the chipset drivers need installed first or the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print job in the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer is removed.
Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 32-bit drivers for Windows 7 32-bit or the Vista 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64-bit. Install the Vista drivers in the Vista
Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on).

Can we use MF6550 for wireless network?

If you use a wireless USB print server like this . Keep in mind that you may not get all functions such as scanning to work but it will allow for printing for sure. If the scanning works consider it a bonus.

Wireless printing does not work

For an effective wireless connection, the printer should be connected to one of the LAN ports of a configured wireless router. This way, every pc(mostly laptops with wireless capability) can print to the printer. You will need a wireless adapter for desktop pcs to access any resource made available wirelessly ok. Good luck

Wireless printing

The printer has o go through a router to work for the other two computers. The only other solution is setting up a wireless network with internet sharing on a HOC and share all file and printer services though it. The main PC would act as a router. for $40.00 you can buy a router and make it work.

Network Vista Wireless Laptop to XP Desktop & Print Documents

On the desktop machine - go to the printers folder, right click the icon for the Laserjet and choose sharing (enable print sharing). You should be able to name the printer and make it accessible to anyone within the workgroup. If needed you can run the network setup wizard to change the workgroup names on both machines.

On the laptop go to add new printer and choose network printer, you should be able to browse to the desktop machine by name and choose the Laserjet as a printer (whether you want it to be the default is up to you). The laptop will download and install the drivers from the desktop pc to the laptop and set the correct network path automatically.

It goes without saying that the desktop machine must be on in order to print from the laptop in this scenario.

Trying to set up a network printer with DELL TRUEMIBILE 2350...please help

using windows xp on all the computers, when you connect to the printer windows should automatically install drivers.

1. Goto My Computer, Click My Network Places (Explorer Bar).
2. Click View Workgroup Computers (Explorer Bar)
3. Find the computer that has the printer physically connected to it, open it
4. Find the printer and right click it!
5 Select Connect... and wait for the drivers to install.

this should install the print drivers and install the printer on your computer. the printer should now be available in print dialogs i.e. word etc etc and from the Control Panel > Printers window.
