Help! finding Sony part.

By Powe33 - usenet poster

I am the owner of an Apple computer repair company.

I know little about other brands of consumer electronics, but that didn't
deter my neighbor from asking if I could help him fix his Walkman. He's a
good guy, so I thought I'd do what I could . . .

I need to find a part, a part number, or a source for the capstan pinch
roller for a SONY Sports Walkman model WM-FS399.

Any help would be MOST appreciated!

Jim,
Andrews Electronics is in Santa Clarita, California, USA. Sorry if I
caused you any confusion.

Why don't you give Sony parts a call at 1-800-488-7669. They sell
directly to the public and are willing to look up part numbers from the
description. A pinch roller should be a good enough description for
them. The cost of a service manual will probably be more than a new
walkman.

Jon,

I get Sony parts from Andrews Electronics, 1-800-289-0300, fax
1-800-289-0301. They are an authorized distributor for Sony, and many
other brands. They can probably get you the part if it is still
available from Sony. (They'll have service manuals too.)
