I have a jvc GR-AXM17U camcorder. i can't keep writeing sutch as the battery life, tape speed and other things displayed out of the images i'm trying to record. all that i want is a clear image of what i'm trying to record nothing more. i lost the manuel to this recorder so i don't know how to change settings to keep this from happening. i would also like to change the tape speed from sp to extra long play if thats even possable for this camcorder. your help would be appreciated

Set the M, A, Off, and Play switch to M with a loaded tape. DO NOT touch the Refresh button. Press the Vol switch down one time, this will get you a Top Menu Page on the display screen. Use the Vol wheel to move about in this Menu page. Press the Vol switch again will let you into the different settings.
E01 means Mechanism has not fully loaded up to the stop position
E06 meansTape drive motor is not rotating or stalled.
Thses two faults indicate a tape jam. please remove the cassette and insert a new cassette.
Eject tape leaving cover open and remove battery. Re-insert battery and re-insert tape also leaving cover open. Keep repeating this process until eo4 message disappears. This worked for my GR-DVL100e after about four repeats. After getting your camcorder operational, they say it is good practice not to leave tape in camcorder when not in use.
