Question about Fuji FinePix F470 Digital Camera

Photos appear to have lines across them as if ventian blinds

The photos suddenly seem to have lines across them as if there were venitian blinds covering them. I have tried a new card and all of the modes no change. Any ideas?

Your shutter is not firing correctly.
To confirm this try taking video as this mode does not use the shutter.
Lines on your photo's mean over exposure due to the shutter not closing over the lens completely.
Lens will have to be dismantled and cleaned

buy something that suits your needs.

go for rechargeable battery packs though as oposed to AA's

F47fd is a nice camera or f50fd both are kind of the next generation up from the F470

Every body charges different amounts for a specific repair. Just depends on the competence and ability of who ever does the repair. If the shutter is obstructed and dismantling is the only option then you are looking at a good few hours labor to sort it out. Also take into consideration if things go wrong, i.e. something breaks like a plastic clip or any other small part, when dismantling they may not carry spares. I carry a certain amount of spares but even taking into account fuji cameras are what I have chosen to specialize in there are numerous models so it's almost impossible to have spares for everything.

Personally I like the F470. I have 2 of them, and 13 other camera's, that were either given to me or I bought them as faulty and have repaired them.

I would typically spend about 3-4 hours on a camera so gauge it by how much someone charges for a repair against the cost of a new one. At the end of the day it all depends on whether or not you are prepared to get it fixed or just buy new or used

I have the exact same problem and yes, the video function works perfectly. Do u have any idea how much it would cost to have the problem fixed? I have described the problem to one camera repairman who said that, from a costs perspective, I'd be better off buying a new camera. What do u think?

Why are pictures suddenly very bright with horizontal lines across?

i had that problem with mine, and it seems that the shutter was stuck, so that the photos are not good anymore =(
if your camera is still under warranty, maybe you can go for a check with them, but i guess it's quite an old camera right? ;)
Still...this camera still can be used to take videos, and also photos in a dark room with the camera's flash, it's not totally dead hehe
Hope this helps =)

Dropped my L730 digital camera and since then when viewing pictures taken, there are lines across the screen...?

Sounds like the shutter has been damaged and is stuck open, which overexposes photos and gives a 'venition blind' effect - the shutter and/or lens unit would need to be replaced. Probably marginal given low replacement costs.

Photos have shadings across photos

this meens that your shutter or curtain infront of the sensor is getting stuck and not oppening completly
i am not sure what the best solution is for this but it may be cheaper to buy a hole new camera rather then getting it fixed

Photos are not clear and has lines

I have the same problem with my camera. Olympus tech says the lens needs to be replaced at $185+ and it's 18 months old with little use. Not happy, not worth it. Don't buy this camera.

There are lots of white lines on my photos. It doesn't seem to matter what the setting is, flash or not, and I've replaced the batteries which are new. The lines go accross each picture like a venitian...

Then unfortunately this is a problem with the image sensor on the camera. It would cost more to fix than to just purchase a new one. If you do go for a new one please recycle the old one at a location that takes e-waste. Sorry for the bad news.
Take Care,

Help... white lines

I also have the same problem! I absolutely love this camera but suddenly out of the blue I have stripy lines on the screen that look like you are looking through a venetian blind. I have contacted Fuji but they say it will cost £99 to repair or have offered £50 discount on any other camera. I just want my F460 working ok. Please, please can anyone help us?
