Yes, I can put the router address into the browser and acceess the configuration but for it to go any further (including using the help link), I have to put in my password.

Can you access the router configuration panel in your browser?

Don't use the reset "Button".

On the rear of the router is a small hole, just big enough to insert a cocktail stick or something similar.

Do your "Hard reset" this way and it will remove ALL settings.
You may however be required to enter Administrator as your user name but try it without first.

Leave the "Password" entry clear.

Good luck.

You can do a hard rest on the router by holding the reset button in for at least 10 seconds and then release, this will reset it back to factory defaults, which is fine if you don't have any special configurations set up on it.

Hope this helps,
David

Hack a facebook account

Despite what the media says, it's impossible for the average person to hack Facebook.

If you were to uncover a security hole in Facebook, you'd be a professional security researcher and Facebook would find out before the general population knew. The hole would be fixed before people at large knew about it.

People who access others' Facebook accounts are usually doing one of 2 things:
1) Using a computer where the person didn't log out before walking away
2) Social engineering hack attacks - that's where you trick someone into telling you their password so you can login as them. Some viruses or scam emails can do this.

Ignoring for a moment that hacking a Facebook account is highly illegal (the FBI will pay you a visit), it's also effectively impossible for most people to do.

That's assuming you're asking "how can *I* hack a Facebook account?". If you're asking "how could someone hack *my* Facebook account?", then it's a similar story. Just protect yourself:
1) Use a good password (a *long* password is better than a short one with capital letters and numbers)
2) Don't use that password on any other website
3) Don't type in your Facebook password on a computer you don't trust. For example, internet cafes are a hotbed of people who install key loggers on the computers and come back later to see everything you typed (and get your password). Simply avoid those computers.

I can't log in to the user based utility. Need a valid user name and password to access.

Is this your computer? If so, why not reset the windows password?
The easiest way to reset a forgotten Windows password I ever use is to use Windows Password Reset ,just a few steps:
Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Reset
Step 2: Burn Windows Password Reset Std ISO file to CD/DVD
Step 3: Put in your newly created CD and remove your Windows Password.
Hope it can help you.

We need the password in order for my son to sign onto his itouch and PS3, but the password is not working in order to sign onto the wireless internet.

If you can not remember your password and have no way of obtaining it simply click the small button on the back that says reset. Then your wireless router will reset to its factory specs and you can login using the default username and password which should be admin/password.

The easiest way of recovering your modems password when you forget it would be by resetting the router to defaults. This will reset the password to the origioal one it had when you bought it, this should be somewhere in the manual or similar. Once it has been reset change it to something that you can easily remember but still something secure enough not to be hacked/guess so easily (try to use at least one capital letter and one number)

Hacked

If you are referring to your router's password being hacked and changed I suggest resetting your router to factory setting (normally accomplished by a recessed button on the side or back) and creating a more secure password. Try using at least one capital letter and one number.

How do i put a password so nobody in my building can get on my ;linsky

open a browser window and then type http://192.168.1.0 or http://192.168.1.1 and enter your router settings. change settings including password. unless you've set it up differently and actually have a username and password, leave the username space blank and use "admin" as the password. that's often the default password on a linksys. linksys has a great support page. they have the drivers, manuals, the works. the manual will also have the default password, plus how to do the default reset. here's the link http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/linksys/

First check that you do not have capitals lock in.Then try again the following whilst you put http://192.168.0.1. on your browser.

Default: 'username: admin password: password".
or
'username: admin password: 1234".
or
'username: admin password: 'blank empty space here'".

If all the above does not work then your router had been used, and password changed, or is fault. in this case bring it back and ask replacement.
There is also a reset button at the back of router. It is a tiny hole where you stick a pencil on router startup to get reset. But if the router is new and does not get default user/password I suggest changing it, It is possibly a return, and you do not know if you get more troubles after reset.
