Question about Hunter Ceiling Fan Control Switch

1 Answer

I have a 52" Hunter Fan with the 4 bulb fixture. One of the sockets keeps blowing out bulbs when you install a new one. A volt meter shows 120V coming thru when the lights are on. The other three bulbs/sockets work fine. I am using a 60W bulb.

U have a short in that socket. don't put other bulb in there because you might blow the whole circuit if u keep doing that.

Fan works, put in new light switch, have power though switch and wire leading to sockets but when put in bulb power is not there any more.

If you switched to a different type of bulb with the new light kit, that could be the problem. Some remotes won't work with CFL bulbs.

Make sure your contact in the socket is touching the bulb.

Did you install the correct wattage? If you put in 2-60 watt try 3-40 watt instead .

I wired 2, 3 way switchs hooked up to 4 lights but i keep blowing the blulbs when i turn it on,, or sometimes it works for 2 min then blows,, they are on a 15 amp fuse,, would there be to much power...

Are the bulbs extra bright when they come on? If so you may have them wired to 220v. My guess is that the bulbs or their holders are defective.

well it could be the wiring or maybe the light bulb check the easiest first and install a new bulb then maybe check the bolts that hold the fixture in.it uses the bolts as a ground for the fixture and if thats all good check the fuse for the fixture then check wiring if all of thats alll good good luck

We purchased a hunter grand visita and when we turn the light on a the breaker box or the switch plate there is a delayed reaction before the light comes on whats going on?

Here is what hunter technical support says about this.

"The light fixtures are manufactured with a limiter that prevents a higher than recommended wattage bulb from working. The limiter causes the slight delay even when the correct bulbs are is in use."

Pretty annoying if you ask me.
