Question about Hunter Ceiling Fan Control Switch

1 Answer

I have a 52" Hunter Fan with the 4 bulb fixture. One of the sockets keeps blowing out bulbs when you install a new one. A volt meter shows 120V coming thru when the lights are on. The other three bulbs/sockets work fine. I am using a 60W bulb.

Fan works, put in new light switch, have power though switch and wire leading to sockets but when put in bulb power is not there any more.

If you switched to a different type of bulb with the new light kit, that could be the problem. Some remotes won't work with CFL bulbs.

The receiver may not be functioning, the bulbs can be burned out or the wire going to the lights can be disconnected.

Newly installed Hunter remote will work light and fan if only 2 of the 3 bulbs are installed.

Did you install the correct wattage? If you put in 2-60 watt try 3-40 watt instead .

Here is what hunter technical support says about this.

"The light fixtures are manufactured with a limiter that prevents a higher than recommended wattage bulb from working. The limiter causes the slight delay even when the correct bulbs are is in use."
