Hello, I just built a system around the SA6 card for a couple friends, but I'm having major problems with the integrated audio software. The drivers seemed to load just fine, but when I double click on the sound controls (als.exe), the pc instantly freezes up. I lose mouse control and CTRL-ALT-DEL does nothing. I have to power down the pc via the power or reset switch. I uninstalled the sound drivers and reinstalled them, but the exact same thing is still happening.
**The sound SOUNDS fine, I just can't change any of the sound settings without the system instantly freezing.**
I have not installed any audio software in addition to the sound drivers located on the ABIT SA6 drivers CD-ROM. I tried to download updated drivers, but ABIT doesn't have any updated drivers for this board on their website. ABIT is a pain to get support from, so I hope you guys can help me find out what's wrong. Thank you, Patrick Murphy
I used the onboard sound briefly, just before I got my SB Live! and I had the same problem. Have you tryed the default windows software? Like the speaker icon in system tray? or the multimedia controls in control panel?
Armand.
