Question about HP Officejet 5510 All-In-One Thermal Printer

1 Answer

HP 5510 Just stopped working properly in the middle of a doc.

Hp 5510 all of a sudden stopped printing in the middle of a document. It pauses for like 2 minutes, then does a quick line of 2, then pauses etc. I just tested with doing just a copy thinking maybe something was awry from the comp. to the printer, and it is diong to the same thing just int copy. I am using Mac OS X

So the driver I see is from 2005. Is that really the updated driver? I am pretty sure I have at least that. I have to ask though, would a driver even affect the way the machine operates independent of the comp? If i am manually operating the machine even if the comp. is not attached? Just curious. Thanks for your input.

Ultimitloozr, it does the exact same thing when doing the test page. Any thoughts?

On the printer, press Setup, 1, 4. This will generate a self-test. Does the printer exhibit the same symptoms when printing this?

Do you think all of the document was in the printer memory or computer memory when it stopped. I am willing to bet that most printers have little to no memory in them so that mean that the pending document while being printed is still in the comuter.  I was onlty stating what i would do . I have no vested interest. Do what you think is best.

OSx or OS 9 ? I would start by reinstallng the driver. You will eleminate one possible cause.

Well, thet just proves that the problem is with the printer itself. I would guess that it is an issue with either the memory or the print engine itself in which case it would most likely require a trip in to a qualified HP service center to resolve the issue.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Windows 7 home edition HP Deskjet D1660 Problem: Printer will print a full page document, but stops in the middle of printing a full page photo. I just installed this printer, i bought it yesterday....

I have the same problem with my printer. I don't use it too often, but when I attempt to print more than a few pages in succession, I run into this issue. Normally, the first few pages will print off just fine. Then, suddenly, it will print half of a page and simply stop in the middle. Pressing the power button gets the printer to release the stuck sheet of paper, but then it will not allow me to resume or delete what is in the print queue. I generally have to reboot my computer after unplugging the printer and plugging it back in before I can resume printing. It does this nearly every time with no known error messages. I don't understand why it happens.

Printing problem

I also own an HP D2360. I had the same problem with eyang and vinerc. I brought the printer to a computer technician and he told me that my color cartridge is busted and needs to be replaced. I bought
a new color cartridge and presto! My printer is working fine.

Printer just stopped printing

Try reloading the software for starters. Unplug the USB cord from the printer and plug ut in again- this should cause the printer to look for the printer again
