Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer reads out "Print Cartridge problem (Tri Color) Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" I purchased this HP Officejet J4550 All-in-one unit new and haven't made any color pictures with it. I'm wondering if the color cartridge is out of ink? Also, it instructs me to "Refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" with no instructions how to do so. HELP ?

    Cartridge Error: Refer to device documentation for troubleshooting. Tri-color cartridge problem. I've replaced it with a NEW colored cartridge but it didn't fix the problem. Please Help. Thanks.

    I have a j4550 . When i try to copy i get an error message that there is a printer cartridge problem Tri-color. refer to documentation device. I tried cleaning the cartridge but no avail. HELP jemcook@gmail.com

I discovered on mine, exact same problem, I opened the tray, removed the cartridge, and forced it back in hard and fast. It didn't work the first 12 times but after that, it got a solid connection and it worked. Works fine now. Anyway that's the problem and the problem isn't the cartridge (genuine hp cart here). The problem is on the printer side, the pins that hit the cartridge. Anyway get rough with it, slam it in and out, close the tray, if it doesn't work within 5 seconds, open the tray and do it again. It WILL work.

It is suggested to print the Self Test page...this will help you determine which of the two ink cartridges is causing the issue:

Self Test Print:
1. Press the Setup Button located on the bottom center of the control panel, beneath the LED readout.
2. Press 2 to select "Print Reports"
3. Press 6 to select "Self-Test Report" on the number keypad
4. Examine the resulting self-test page that prints. There should be lines extending all the way across the page in black, yellow, cyan and magenta. A missing black line indicates a problem with the black or photo cartridge. Faded, streaked or missing lines in the other colors indicates a problem with the color ink cartridge. Refer to video at link below to help evaluate test pattern.


NOTE:A good HP 27/56 black cartridge should display 416 good nozzles, while a good HP 22/57/58 color ink cartridge should have 300 good nozzles. See video at link below:

I am getting a cartridge error. I dont have my book on hand to solve this problem. I just instaled a new ink cartridge.

The color cart could be dried up even if it's new. Your ptr uses all carts for all printing.

hi i dont have the tricolor cartridge in my hp 5610 and i want to work only with black cartridge and my printer says there is no cartridge on the left , is it posible to solve this problem and work with one cartridge only ? i can print but copy and fax doesnt work . thanx
