"Palm Tungsten C quit. About 6 months age. Reset gave display for 1 or 2 seconds then white screen"

    I suspect it was a hard reset, accessed through a small hole on the rear.

This doesn't sound like a software issue to me.. After the one or two seconds does the display continue to stay on with a blank screen or does it just turn off? Coz the white screen usually suggests that only the backlight is on and the LCD panel is dead. I would also try removing the battery and then put it back in after 2 mins and turn it on.. Please try the suggested steps and provide the requested info so that I can see you through this..

You may need a repair if the reset does not work. Since it is still under warranty I would call the company and get it done.

Hey,

Screen going white after few seconds of powering on is a hardware fault, in sometimes its possible to get the unit to turn on and function for a while but most likely the problem will repeat itself.

Hard and warm Reset
Press the reset button and hold the Power button, this will perform a hard reset.

Also attempt a warm reset: Press the reset button and hold the up navigation button until palm is on the screen.

As you device is only 6 months old it should be covered by the 1 year warranty assuming you haven't taken the device apart, please read more on their warranty and repair pages.

Use the above page to contact palm for repairs. The above website is for indonesia, I've been unable to locate the US version of that page.

Please use live chat / repair to contact palm let them know where you are located etc.
Other option would be to contact your dealer, but your dealer may refer you back to palm.

    Since it is 6 months old it is under warranty . Replace your unit it tends to be hardware fault in your unit .

I cant log into my facebook account. i just have a white screen


To Fix a white screen issue:
FB has thousands of servers so you know their site is not down. It can only be a few things that cause a white screen. If you can get to other websites you have a good connection. So that leaves it is a browser issue, shortcut or a app issue. I don't know what device you're on but for:
Web browser- Go to settings and reset to default.
Shortcut - Go to your browser search and search for facebook and click on the link and when it loads create a new shortcut and delete the old shortcut.
App - For mobile device app the app may have corrupted. Uninstall it and download a new app.
It is one of those areas, you will have to use another device to google how to do those in detail i.e. Google "How to reset Google Chrome". To survive in the digital age I have some fundamental

have you tried to connect another display to it? if this is so and the other monitor works than your current display gave out. this is the problem with all in one computers they have poor ventilation and the heat isnt transfered and causes hardware to fail

I cannot sync my Palm Tungsten E with MS Outlook.


  1. Step 1 Install the Palm Tungsten software. This software is required in order to sync Palm Tungsten with Outlook Express. To install the software, place the CD-ROM in your PC and follow the on screen instructions.
  2. Step 2 Use the HotSync cable included with your Palm to plug into the USB port of your PC. You will then plug the other end of the cable into your Palm Tungsten.
  3. Step 3 Open the HotSync Manager program on your PC through the "Start" menu or clicking on the icon. You can manage the different programs available for synchronization through this program. Select Microsoft Outlook as one of the applications that you want synched onto your Palm Tungsten.
  4. Step 4 Turn on the Palm Tungsten. You will see a star icon on the menu of your PDA. Tap this star with your stylus to start syncing Microsoft Outlook Express. A dialog box will appear on your PC during the process to know the progress of the synchronization.
  5. Step 5 Unplug the cable from your PC and Palm Tungsten once the sync is completed. As the Palm resets, you will now notice that Microsoft Outlook Express is available on the PDA.

I have the wrong version of the software for my speedbrake loaded on my Tungsten E2. I need to delete it so I can load the correct file.


Go to your applications screen on your palm, tap on the menu button, or the clock in the upper left hand corner, tap "Delete" select "Handheld" or your card from the "Delete From" Dropdown menu, find your speedbrake app and press delete. Be sure that you have any settings that you need written down so you can put them back in. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Palm Lifedirve will not synch. Since it has not yet performed an initial synch I cannot use wireless or network to get around the usb driver problem


Try connecting it to a higher speed usb port if you have one. You can also purchase higher speed hub connection.

tricky!! oh hi im Dyanne.. a totally unresponsive black screen can be th result of failure of th LCD or LCD inverter.( a specialized piece of electronics that energize th screen) to rule out th failure of th video display adapter or circuitry, try plugging in an external monitor..a standard pc monitor.. attached direct to th lappy. if it works, (as i susopect) th motherboard and video display are both working ok and its th LCD which is at fault. this can sometimes be repaired by a competent specialist. good luck xx

Asus a7m266 was watching somthing on a tv tuner and computer died, every time i switch on all i get is a repeditive 1 second long beep, then 1 second pause no bios or display


try taking out the battery on *********** board, then put it back in and try it. this should reset your bios.

also there should be a 2 prong jump block on *********** board to reset bios.

check *********** boards book for location of this pin.you will need a jumper to do this. if you have any old hd's or cd dvd drives laying around you can use one of them. the little black thing for master/slave jumping..or an old mother board.

i have like 4 of them in the bottom of my case just incase i have to reset bios the hard way.

Toshiba M55-S135 laptop. Video on screen is 1/3 blue at top, bottom 2/3's are white


Sounds like ur screen needs replacement bud its going bad due to age this is normal for any LCD display to show its age

Video freezes up to vertical lines or blue or white screen


Clean the CPU cooler and everithing else from the dust!

Turn off,open the case, use air spray to clean.
(I use vacom cleaner and a small brush, but you risk your component if you do the same! I'm professional.)
